I have been suspended from Twitter and I am just sick about it. For those of you who are/were following me. Did I spam you?

Not sure. Don't know what you did. What did you do? What were your updates?

Thats the question, I mostly just talked about my day and replied to other people. That is why I am so upset, because I wasn't doing anything wrong and now anyone who views me thinks I'm a spammer. I know my account was okay on Wed and then Thursday night when I tried to login, I got the message. I can still view my account, but can't post.

Go to Problogger.com and see if you can dig something up. He got suspended for something (I think it was twitter, maybe not) but he listed the steps he took to get un-suspended.

If you can't find it, message me and I'll see if I can find it.

Hi Dawn,
I can imagine how upset you must be.

Did you contact @ev? Or @twitter? Have you requested a reason as to why you've been suspended?

I have only seen this happen a couple of times.

If I hear of anything that might help I'll get back.

I don't actually have anything helpful to add, but would love to hear followup on this.

Here's the Suspended Accounts help page:

Suspended Accounts

A Twitter account may be suspended for a variety of reasons. The most common of which is automated mass following or other types of spammy behavior.

What is Spam on Twitter?
Commercial or promotional use of Twitter is allowed. There are many companies who create valuable, opt-in relationships with users on Twitter who want to keep up to date with them. However, if you are following other accounts in order to gain attention to your account or links therein, you may be considered spam. If you are creating a series of accounts in order to promote the same thing, you may be considered spam. If you are sending large numbers of @reply messages that are not genuine replies, you may be considered spam. If you are creating updates in order to show up in search results, you may be considered spam. If you are disguising links (i.e., writing about one thing but linking to another), you may be considered spam. If a large number of users have blocked you (relative to those following you), you may be considered spam.

Other Reasons Your Account May Be Suspended
It's possible your account may be suspended for breaking other Twitter rules. Impersonation, illegal content, or any violation of the Twitter Terms of Service may result in the suspension of your account.

If You've Been Suspended Unjustly
Please let us know if you feel your account was suspended and you believe it should not be. We will review your request as soon as possible.

Thanks for all the comments, I have truly done nothing in error and have a support ticket to get this rectified. Just waiting for a response. I think I only follow about 400 or so people right now, so no mass following and no spammy comments. I was told by someone on the "inside" that there is nothing visibly wrong with my account and there is no reason for the suspension and that I should be able to be reinstated. Hopefully before the next GNO.
Will update when I hear more.

I just had the same thing happen to me. They suspended my accounts I had 2 because one is for my twittermoms and hey-whatsfordinner and the other is for my affiliate marketing account. I found out yesterday the reason I was flagged was because I was anti-social. I sure as heck don't know what that means. I just started a new account but I lost my followers and the people I was following. I am waiting for twitter to figure out the issurs and reinstate my accounts. Hopefully they won't suspend the new account.

Yep my account says the same thing and I have no idea what that means. Thanks, it's nice to know I'm not alone. I tried get satisfaction and they even stated they don't see anything wrong with my account. Yep now I have to rebuild my friends again too.
