This is our first year not celebrating Halloween. We will be at the block party at our church. The kids are excited to bob for apples, eat donuts hanging from a string (no hands!), have their faces painted, carve pumpkins, you know, traditional harvest time fun!
My daughter has deciced to be Dorothy this year, this is the first year she has been able to pick what she wants to be. My son is going to be Spider Man and is super excited about it, he was also able to pick his costume. The baby is going to be a pumpkin, he is just now 7 weeks old, so his first Halloween. :)
My youngest is 15(!) and still is planning to go trick or treating. "I'll just wear a black sweatshirt," he said.
Wrong-o, buddy. "If you're going to go door to door and beg for candy, you must wear a costume. And it better be a good one. I want to see creativity and craftsmanship. I will not let you go lurk around the neighborhood in a black sweatshirt."
I made a turtle costume for this same kid when he was five. Foam rubber shell, green long underwear - the whole bit.
