Story behind your Twitter name?

  • Rating: No Rating
Anyone have an interesting story behind their twitter name? Or if it is your blog name is there an interesting story behind that?

@linneyshvede is a combination of linney, my mom's nickname for me and shvede, our nickname for my stepfather (who was Swedish). No one can pronounce it, so it's kind of a pain in the neck!

I'm a MOM from MINNEsota, so minnemom. Not too creative, but it works.

Anamcaracandles was the name of my candle business until I changed it to soy4me. The words Anam Cara are actually old irish gaelic for soul friend. There is a book with that title as well, can't remember the author but a very interesting read.

I usually go by desertdyno, but when I first started with Twitter someone told me I should use my name. Well Julie is a very common name so I added FBT in representation of my website - Free Birthday Treats. Original I know! LOL!

My Twitter name is forever_trust. It's from the lyrics of one of my favorite songs, "Nothing Else Matters" by Metallica. "Forever trust in who we are, and nothing else matters".

I started blogging two years ago and titled it A Deaf Mom Shares Her World so I started branding myself as DeafMom. Being deaf and being a mom are two things that are so ingrained in me that the Twitter name is a natural fit.

Hehe..mine's so dumb! No, really..it's dumb! When I finally allowed my kids to start using instant messaging, I tested them. I told them they could use it as long as they always keep me as a friend, and they run any "strange names" by me so that I could check them out. Sooo..when I added my daughters to my IM, I made a up a name. Just started typing letters until it looked good. I came up with Hargarmoopy Swensontonington. The test worked. They both immediately told me there was a stranger trying to add them. :) Now we all have Swensontonington names. My older daughter is Skippydeegysh Swensontonington and my younger daughter is Quapplemeeplesmapplepie (pronounced exactly like it's spelled..lol) Swensontonington. They used the same method. My husband has resisted giving himself a name. I still don't understand why :)

My twitter name is ComfyMom which is a combination of a few names I have had online over the years. I have different screen names for different interests. ComfyMom is the first that acually combines a couple. My name is actually Stacey & there are thousands of Staceys, Stacys, Stacis and Stacies out there, so I lean toward adjectives.

I don't know how "interesting" it is, but my name is spelled as how your pronouce our last name. My husband is Italian, so his name is authentically Italian and most people either mispronounce it or just don't try lol. So I came up with just spelling it the way it sounds and since then we've used it on mostly everything.

I've become upcountrysmiles since I moved to Upcountry, Maui (One year ago) and I added the smiles to it because I'm known for my smiles so that's how upcountrysmiles was created.
