What do you do when you cannot sleep?

As I sit here on my patio enjoying the windy weather...wondering what other twitter friends do when they cannot sleep....twitter is kind of quiet in the middle of the night...

I'm in the same boat but I'm sitting in bed playing on the Internet. Dh slept in the basement because it's too hot up here. Hmmmmm....maybe that's why I can't sleep? Or the nap until 7pm :)

Hoping you find sleep soon. I don't have kids at home anymore nor a "real" job so I can sleep in. It's much more fun having insomnia when you don't have to worry about the consequences.

Goodnight!

I usually watch tv or sit and play WOW. A crazy small addiction/guilty pleasure. I get insomnia quite often then the kiddos have me up at the crack of dawn Totally not fun, I often wonder how I can survive But hey I am just fine :D

I have horrible insomnia, so if I have the time, I take meds. If I don't, I take hot baths, read a book I have read before (not a new one- that is important), and no TV. :)

Personally I refuse to open my eyes and I try to focus on white noise rather than the rushing thoughts keeping me awake. If I just KNOW I'm going to have a rough night my last resort is to take a Tylenol PM. But it IS my last resort and I only take it for one or two nights in a row.

I'll get out of bed, so I don't keep my husband awake with my tossing and turning, and read.

I don't bring my laptop to bed with me or I'd probably never sleep (or anything else you do in there - tee hee) so when I can't sleep, which is very often, I just lay there and wonder if I'll ever fall asleep. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't but I figure at least I'm resting my body and my eyes so it's a start.

If you like tea, I suggest one of those "sleepytime" teas. I've actually had positive experiences with them. If that fails I find a tylenol pm, I have no patience for sleeplessness!

I take meds so it doesn't happen too often. If it does I usually get up and read a book for bit.

I watch Jewelry Television. I love the sparkly jewelry turntables and the constant droning on about the items in a southern accent. It's like a sparkly bedtime story. I have actually trained my brain to associate JTV with sleep. My husband often tells me not to fall asleep if I walk past the jewelry store windows in the mall. :)

LOL! Yes! I love those channels as well. Do you have to be southern to get a job in TV jewelry sales, that's what I want to know! I love those ladies with their big blond hair and those long fingernails and all that jewelry. I've bought jewelry from those channels before, I must confess!

If it gets terribly bad, I will take 1 Benadryl in hopes of easing the sleep.

I guess that since it is just Brad, Cait (14), & I well, when I am tired I lay down when I'm not tired I am up.
Brad works nights so, we never know when one of us will be up or sleeping. LOL!
Guess I do not have any real schedule.
