How to best utilize Twitter

I use twitter in between soaping, etc just to connect with other like minded people.

I tried to check mommybar but my virus scanner detected something and blocked it.

nope not me, I use it all the time and it is great for some quick and dirty Twittering! I love Mommybar!

I love Twitter more & more every day. Twitter for a day, it's a short story...a month, it's a novel. Brave New World of Digital Intimacy

I'm using it to find others who share my passion for digital learning, home school, activism, Girl Scouts, and travel. I also use it to link to interesting articles, photos, video that I think are relevant to these interests, usually anyway.

Of course, it's just one more way to connect with the community that inspires, and sometimes even reads, my On Living By Learning blog.

I use TweetDeck. Makes all of my Tweets really manageable so I can see all my @replies, direct messages and even group people I want to keep up with- all in one place.

I honestly don't know what I did without it.

I agree with all on here that Twitter can get really distracting. I think it's best to share information that pertains to your followers, but remember to be a bit human, too. :)

I just installed tweetdeck, but it doesn't see all the people I follow - tried to make a group, and two of the three people I was going to put in it didn't appear in the list - anyone else have problems like that?

Glad I read this discussion. I like using twitter, but to actually communicate with it like I saw last night with the GNO Twitter gals... it went a bit to fast for me. LOL

How do I get a Mommybar? I want one! OK, since no one else is going to admit it...I think I'm addicted to Twitter. But that's easily solved. I'm going to shut it down for the night and have a good night's rest....just a few more minutes...:)

The cool thing about TwitterMoms (TM) is having so many intelligent, interesting and fun mommies to talk to...I feel like I learn something new every single time I log onto TM. There are so many interesting subjects. I think it's the quest for knowledge and actually finding useful information that keeps me coming back several times a day......
