Us Southern CA moms affected in some way by fires

  • Rating: No Rating
It's October and you know it because you can't breath when you go outside. I know that the fires are not close enough to affect us yet, but we are having ash and smoke in the air. Just thought some of you closer to the fires may find comfort in a place to come and talk.

My biggest concern is if the school will appropriately call indoor recess for poor air quality and also stay on top of teachers keeping the doors closed. My kids have seasonal allergies and I worry about their allergies getting bad.

What about you guys???

My oldest son and I are the ones with the allergies, and it's hit us big time. We're just hoping that the Tujunga Canyon one doesn't move East. We'll then need to worry about the fire itself. Earlier, in terms of smoke and ask, the winds were moving it west away from us, but I drove through "fog" coming home, so I just don't know. Probably not going to sleep a whole lot tonight... Live in the foothills.

Well, since you work and haven't been listening to news in the background all day...the dr. on the news said if your house starts to smell to turn the fan of the a/c on and it will push the bad air out!!

and our sharper image air purifiers have been wonderful the past two octobers.

Being a resident of the Chatsworth area, we are definitely affected by the fire. We are taking it one hour at a time, LITERALLY. I have actually been talking to some other local moms on IM and twitter who have been keeping my spirits up!

My sons school did call for an indoor recess. It was really smokey.

Being from San Diego originally, and living in Scripps Ranch during the 06 fires, this is like dejavu.

We are in Santa Clarita and so far the air isn't smelling too bad. If the wind shifts I suspect I will wake up tomorrow to the smoke.
