Is Halloween Appropriate for Teenagers over 15 years of age?

Moms interested in hearing your feedback about the age that teenagers should stop trick or treating. This has become a large topic at parent pick-up between moms waiting to pick up their teens at the high school. I just wanted your thoughts.

I see that us tweeting moms feel the same. I like that it falls on a Friday Night. Some moms at parent pick are very different and cranky. Julia is looking forward to trick or treating most of her friends will be at the high school football game though.

Let them have fun as kids...they grow up fast enough. The one thing we take from our kids too early is just silly fun!

I know when I give out candy I enjoy it much more when it's the little ones coming to the door. I personally stopped when I was around 11 or 12. However, as long as they are having fun and behaving, I guess let them go for it!

STOP trick-or-treating???
LMAO! I'm 24 and I STILL love it!! This will be our son's first "real" Halloween where we can take him out. I think he's going to have a ton of fun.

Let 'em have fun! 15 is still young :) Heck, if a 50 year old came trick or treating at my house, I'd give 'em candy :)

I don't mind teenagers who come to my door for treats as long as they dress up, act polite and don't come too late. My lights are off by 8pm, my kids are in bed then and I don't want to be disturbed (I'm in my pj's usually by then!!) Otherwise, I have no problem with it.

Let them have fun and stay kids. If a 15 year old wants to go out with friends and remember what it is like being 5 or 6 running from house to house, let them enjoy. They truly grow up much too fast.

In my neighborhood, it seems to be the little ones go trick or treating earlier. Then, after a certain time, you see the teens come out in packs (naturally). They aren't dressed in costume, or if they are the guys are just wearing their football jerseys, the girls appear to be streetwalkers. It kind of ruins the whole thing for me. I prefer the little kids.

I will hand out candy to ANYONE in a costume.
If a teen or adult is in a costume..they get candy...if you are a teen looking for free candy with no effort then get lost.

I wear a costume with my kids...it is fun!

I have mixed feelings about this. I think when kids are old enough to have a part-time job, they can buy their own candy! My 15 year old son quit going trick & treating several years ago. One year he had fun dressing up and sitting on our front porch to add some "scare" and hand out candy. Another year he took his sis & the younger kids in our neighborhood around so moms can hand out candy at home. Teen boys tend to get a little too rowdy mixed with little ones.
One local Christian school had their kids collect canned goods for the local food bank--they dressed up--kinda fun!
