I'm reading a book called "playing house" by patricia pearson

Its about a writer in NYC in her 30's who finds out she's pregnant, and its a big SURPRISE. So far it's very very good.

With my son, we switch it up from Phonic's Diego books, to green eggs and ham to the little critter books.

Love this thread!

As for myself I also read the 4 Twilight series books last month and enjoyed them a lot. I am anxious to see the movie! Currently I'm deep into the Southern Vampire series by Charlaine Harris. I'm on book #5, of a total 8. (the HBO series True Blood is based on this series)
My daughter, age 9, is reading Nancy Drew and the Disney Fairy chapter books. She really gets into series of books and will read them into the ground so it's been about 10 Nancy Drew books in a row. LOL

I have to admit, I was a doubter at first. I thought it was just a story of some woman's travels that would be boring. It totally wasn't...it left me with some many messages about my own life as well as 'proverbs' if you will that I strive to live by.

I finished Eat, Pray, Love a couple weeks ago! I really enjoyed the Eat & Pray parts, the Love, not so m much.

I'm currently reading the Reavers by Geroge MacDonald Frazer (he writes the Flashman series). it's funny...odd... and occasionally difficult to read due to grammar & overt wordiness due to the writing style...but very entertaining, in an odd way. I'm enjoying it

The boys and I are reading a Captain Underpants book, not sure which one, and a Scooby Doo mystery

I'll have to get back to Twilight. I got half way through it and stopped. My 12 yr old wants to read it because "EVERYONE at school is reading it" - but I am concerned about it being appropriate for her.

I am an avid reader! However, I generally only read chick-lit as that is my time to relax, not really "think." Currently I am reading "P.S. I Love You" by Cecilia Ahern. I adored the movie and am enjoying the book.

My daughter is only 4 so we read multiples books a day. Most of her faves are Cat in the Hat or Disney stories.

I have to go with the Harry Potters and the Dresden Files series. Also, my daughter is hooked on my Dragon Thing books. She loves to help me transcribe them.

I thought the first three books would be ok for around age 12 as the characters remain...chaste...for lack of a better word but the last one is a little more sexually explicit, don't want to give away the plot though.

My kids are hooked on the Harry Potter books. We started reading 10 pages a night with our 5-year-old daughter several months ago and she's up to Goblet of Fire. Her toddler brother, who has to imitate, insisted on having them read as well. We were surprised to find that he will also sit and listen and is now on Chamber of Secrets.

Both kids love Roald Dahl's Matilda. Our daughter also likes the Amelia Bedelia books. Our son likes Yummy Yucky by Leslie Patcicelli.

As for my, I haven't had the chance to read much grown-up fiction lately. I have been on a non-fiction kick of some really interesting work-related books.
