How much does the tooth fairy leave your children?

I give my boys a dollar - but not just any one, I give them Sagacawea or Susan B Anthony coins. They usually find that pretty neat, although at one time my youngest thought that the image on the coin was that of the tooth fairy. ; )

I think they might have gotten $5 or $10 for the first tooth. All others get a $2 bill. They think it's cool because you don't see them often...

There's no consistency at our house either. My daughter use to prize those gold dollar coins more than bills, so that's what she got. I think the only place I could find those coins was in the stamp machine at the post office. So now the tooth fairy is handing out a few bills.

oh yeah not $5 but I will dig out a dollar or two. Once I gave them one of those gold dollars. They really felt like the tooth fairy had come when they saw something different like that under their pillow.

In our house, the tooth fairy leaves a dollar coin and a bit of glitter for each tooth. It's something different and seems a bit more magical for my little girl.

Tooth fairy here leaves between $5-20 depending on the tooth & circumstance in it coming out.

I think $2.00 is plenty. Like everything else the amount tha the tooth fairy leaves has gotten out of hand.
