I don't know which would help me right now. I feel so bad because my mother needs me and I am thousands of miles away and can't do nothing about her suffering. That is only the top of the iceberg, then there's more...
Journal-it actually changes brain pathways to "re-wire" your brain to be happy
Eat spicy foods- changes the neurotransmitters in the brain from sad ones to happy ones
Talk to people I trust
Breath
Get outside
Go horseback riding
Call your best friend. Even if I don't think I feel like talking, once we get chatting, I forget how blue I am, ususally get some good advice and always start laughing. By the time I hang up, I'm in a much better mood, not only for me but for my family too.

Hey LInda i can compleatly relate my mom lives in another country and she is having alot of probs at the minute, and i find it so frustrating that i can't be right next to her, this is gonna sound really silly but i've started channeling my negative energy into computer games, when i have time and my kids arn't demanding all my time, i kick back with Mario Kart its fun and i always feel really relaxed after a couple of races :o) And if all else fails i spend time with my friends at that is a sure way to perk me up.
