twitter moms: the influential moms network

What's cooler: Web 2.0 tech (like twitter), or green technology -- like solar?

  • Rating: No Rating
What's cooler: instantaneous connections between people who can then organize themselves in new, unexpected ways to do new, unexpected things (Twitter, anyone?) or the green technology revolution that's going on now -- decreasing our carbon footprint, increasing our miles per gallon, and making us all feel less guilty?

I will tweet the results of this entirely unscientific poll. But give it some thought and make your views known!

Well cooler for me would be web 2.0 technology, but more important is green technology. I like when I can combine my web love with green tech though - like I picked a web host that uses green power!!

Wow, how did you find a green web host? Didn't know there was such a thing?

I'm a total tech head, but green technology is definitely cooler and more important IMO. Wouldn't it be great to have everything (including web 2.0) powered by renewable energy sources?

They are both way cool... and to me both very important. At this point, it would be a real adjustment to lose to web 2.0's place in my life. I answered a gallup poll the other other day about phone books, I haven't had a phone book in my house for 6 years.
I feel sure that we will have it all Web 2.0 and Green technology, we just have to make the hard decisions to spend more money on Green computer products. When we are standing in a store, and there is a sale item and a green item, you have to make a choice, not every manufacturer is going to go green, they know that most of America has a budget and cost-consciousness will win in many cases. Right now, Green is costlier, it will be until regulations are imposed on manufacturers that do not meet standards of recycling and reusability.

Not fair, too hard to choose!

Megan, now that is a unfair comparison. Twitter is cool because it's uniting people from all parts of the world. Showing that we are not so different from others. But, really solar energy will preserve our resources for future generations to come. If I had to choose one over the other it would be cooler to have everyone globally utilizing solar energy and green technology.
