twitter moms: the influential moms network

When you're going insane from the everyday activities involved in being a mom, how do you escape?
If I can actually get away, I usually grab a coffee with my sisters or roam the aisles of Target or Marshall's without having to push a cart!
If I can't get away, I know Lovely Listing always makes me laugh or I tell everyone I have to go potty and just sit in there in silence by myself for one peaceful minute.
You?

I take a shower! or If I can get out of the house I go to the Dollar Store! We don't have anything here but that but hey you can always find a good deal! My favorite part is driving there with my favorite tunes blasting out of my mini-van windows, I feel 18 again, all except the mini-van!

I get stoned to Pink Floyd.

Oh wait, college flashback.

Nah, I just have a glass of wine and read a book or zone out to reality TV. The shows on Bravo are my favorite. Million Dollar Listing had a good season. The Rachel Zoe project is interesting because of the fashion, oh the gorgeous fashion. Drool drool.

I try to go to worlds in books and TV that are so far beyond mine. I get enough of being a housewife and mom all day. I want to escape to glamorous worlds when I zone out after a long day.

If I just have a few minutes, I take a quick shower or just have a cup of coffee in a different room.

If I have an hour, I take my laptop and work at Panera.

If I have a day, I go into New York and see my friends, shop, have lunch . . .

I stop by the coffee shop (it's like my Cheers ... everybody knows me LOL) or go into my room and read for a little while. It's a good way to get a break.

Recently it has been swimming. I work from home, and when I am tearing my hair out, I just head to the pool!

Having an afternoon free to get a manicure and pedicure in one of those heavenly massage chairs does wonders. If that's not possible a little computer time or mindless tv at the end of the day can sometimes help.

I like to go for a walk, but I take the kids. I haven't really gotten away. I think I need to

I head for my Thai Kickboxing class. No matter what is bothering me at the start of class, I'm always in a better frame of mind at the end.
