During my day job - as a marketer - I hear non-stop questions about Twitter. The most common - "How do people have time for Twitter? What's the point?"
Obviously this is coming from people who have yet to try Twitter. But I always answer, as patiently as possible, and explain my reasons:
- I can connect with fascinating people I never would have encountered otherwise
- Twitter is now my main news source (I follow @newyorktimes and others)
- I can ask a question to other moms and immediately get an answer
- Twitter is now the #1 driver of traffic to
my blog on being a dating single mom
- And it's just fun!
Am I an addict? Perhaps. But women are naturally addicted to communicating, sharing our thoughts, ideas or feelings - so is it really that surprising? I am addicted to communicating and Twitter makes it easy, convenient and fun.
P.S.
One of my favorite lines I've read out there in the blogosphere, "If you're not on Twitter yet - you will be." And, no, I don't work for Twitter.
So why do you love Twitter and would you call yourself an addict?
