Groups on Twittermoms

How to you know which groups to sign up for?? I am in lots of the groups, but I don't want to have so many that I can't even reply or keep up. How do you all do it - some of you are signed up for almost all of the groups!!! I am curious, is it okay to join a group because you want to follow the discussions once in awhile or should you only join the groups that you will have something to input on a daily/weekly basis? Thanks in advance.

That was my thought too, but if you "follow" the groups then you have a ton of email so how do you manage? Thanks for your thoughts on this.

I joined a whole bunch and am finding some are busier than others. I tried to cut back on my notices, but seem to keep getting them. When I check on my phone, everyone is individual (where on the computer, all that are the same thread go in a group... love gmail) and for some reason I can't log in from my phone (it tells me I don't have cookies enabled even though they are), so I end up deleting a bunch and coming to the computer and checking from there. I can read comments, just can't reply... and for some reason I can't see the list of discussions on a group... so to the computer I go.

Where I was going before I started rambling... I joined the ones that interested me. As long as they continue to interest me, I will do my best to keep up. If they change or I lose interest, then I can choose to leave, but I would rather check them out to see if it is something I would really enjoy!!

I just subscribed to the ones that I have an interest for. Right now they are fairly slow and it's easy for me to keep up. Hopefully I still can when they get busier!

Join as many as you want, and say something when you have something to say. It's all right to lurk most of the time.

Some of the groups here are very busy, and some are quieter, so you may find that the volume isn't as daunting as you think.

You also have the option to read conversations in your feed reader (see the RSS button on the bottom of the discussion pages?) or have e-mail notifications turned on or off for entire groups or for specific discussions.

Jump in when you can, but don't feel that you have to respond to absolutely every thread.

Thank you. I was wondering what the little RSS button was for. That may make it a bit easier to keep track.

I did join the groups that appealed to me and will probably join a few more (as I see new ones popping up all the time), but I homeschool, run a business where I make most of the products so I try to "limit" my computer time. Okay, I am a computer addict, but I try to spend my time as best as I can. I appreciate all the advice. Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!!
