Hi Lakshmi,
If your daughter experiences allergy systems all year round, it can be due to household allergens such as house-dust mites & animal dander.
Try to cover mattresses and bedding with anti-mite barrier covers,
Remove soft toys from your daughter’s bed especially at night. An exception is a favourite toy, which must be washed regularly or places in the freezer for several hours to minimize build-up of house-dust mites.
Reduce humidity within the home. (Below 25Celcius / 77 Fahrenheit).
Yes, I have just been going through this same thing with my 8 year old son. His seasonal allergies slowly became year round allergies. I happened to be going to school this year for a certification in Holistic Nutrition. When we got to Allergies and Immune Unit things just fell into place. I had been suspecting a food allergy for almost a year but with not real resources and information to go to my doctor with until then. It cost a few hundred dollars but I requested she have blood drawn and have him tested for the basic food allergies as well as the indoor/outdoor allergies.
His symptoms ranged from stuffy nose, sinus pressure, really gross sneezing, coughing, soar or scratch throat, headaches, stomach aches, puffy face, ear pressure/pain, constipation alternating with diarrhea, cranky, body aches...some if not all similar to flu and cold symptoms.
So what is working for us? Well he tested positive for wheat and milk allergies and grass and pollens. He has been eating wheat and dairy free for about three weeks and most his symptoms have been greatly reduces and his allergy medicine is working so much better.
He also takes vitamin supplements of vitamin C, probiotics, a good quality multi and calcium supplement, vitamin D and Omega 3. It seems like a lot when listed as it is, but it really isn't that much when you see it. The probiotic and allergy meds are taken before bed. The vitamin C & D are liquid and are put in a juice or smoothie during a meal and the multi, calcium and Omega 3's are all chewables. The vitamins are only taken every other day, I make my best effort of using food for him and my other children to get their vitamins and micro nutrients.
By the way, he feels the best when he is swimming, washes away the pollen and makes him feel better.
Good Luck.

Thankyou! I have been thinking about cutting out cows milk from her food. However, here we are very restricted with the alternatives. The only readily available alternative is Soymilk which is from Thailand and powdered milk. I prefer giving fresh milk. I am still looking for goat's milk.
I was worried about the Calcium and other deficiencies related with not drinking milk. What supplements do you use? I visit the US often so I could get it on my next trip. I tried giving her Omega 369 fish oil from Nordic Naturals and Multivitamin Chews when I went there last.
Have you noticed any difference in your son's health after making this change?
I really appreciate your replies and concern. Best regards, Lakshmi
