My daughters are growing up fast and with it are the changing preference for toys. My eldest (turning 5 this year) has some growing fondness with dress-up dolls like Polly Pocket, and I`d like to get her some more dolls for her afternoon tea party ensemble (the stuffed puppies and teddy bears are getting old). Barbies and Bratz seem interesting, but I get the impression that its too sexy and mature. I had a couple of barbie dolls when I was a little girl but I wouldn't know if it was good for me, like was I really aware if it helped or changed me. Now that I'm a mother, its a different story...verging to feeling anxious; or am I being trivial about these toys. What's your view on this?
My daughter is 7 and she think Bratz look 'mean'. The thing that totally turned me against them was when I saw one in K-mart - it was a Baby Bratz and it was wearing a thong!!! So wrong.
I have to agree with many of you ladies about Bratz. The only problem that I have is my daughter got on the Bratz band wagon from her friend in school who loves Bratz. She got one for her birthday and only plays with it once in a while. I don't want to take it away as I know she will have a fit but I refuse to buy anymore. I don't think they're made for little girls.
I love Barbies and so does my girls but I think they like the Disney princess even more. We have just about everything imaginable for the Disney Princess.
What I like best are the American Girls dolls. They are so pretty and the matching outfits are irresistible! My husband doesn't like us going into the store too often, if you know what I mean $$$$.
