Try Stride Rite. But, have your baby fitted and sized. Babies tend to curl their toes at first when learning to balance themselves. If your baby has a wide foot you definitely want to fit the child in a wide width shoe. The next brands I highly recommend if a Stride Rite shoe shop is not in your area is New Balance for wide feet and Nike for narrow feet.

Robeez, or any other soft-soled shoe (Robeez can be kind of expensive, but the knock-offs work just as well). They need to be able to grip the floor with their toes and thicker-soled shoes prevent that. Plus they help their little bones develop properly.
