This idea has stemmed from some awesome women here at Twitter Moms
They have been doing what's called,
GNO = Girls Night Out. It's all done through Twitter. You can see there group here at TM
WHY do this CWTU when there is already a GNO??
GNO has been very successful and to the women behind it- PROPS!
There is also a group here at TM that do this same thing where they discuss Wine.
They will just never hit some of the topics that I think it would be VERY cool to share as Christian Women. GNO tops the charts of whats hot on twitter when they are in action.
How cool would it be to rock Twitter as Christian Women talking about Edifying topics too??
Could be a powerful statement!
The simple sample of what Christian Women Tweet Up is...
A set designated time to meet up on Twitter is given out
Sample: 10:00pm Eastern Time on every Tues Night.
We have specific topics we discuss, share resources for, encourage. Even give away prizes from sponsors!
Everyone who participates does a couple of things...
1) Follows the host- which would be me. @TakeRoot (can be more than one host)
2) Follows the guest speaker if we have one. (and would be announced ahead)
3) Everyone adds #CWTU to every tweet you send out. (WHY? because thats called a hashtag- it allows twitter to track every tweet that has that #CWTU in it that in turns reflects as a 'conversation' in the link below. You will see NO tweets that don't have a hashtag)
4) At the time the #CWTU starts you go to http://search.twitter.com/ Type in CWTU and you will be able to follow, interact with the entire conversation and hook up with new tweeple. It refreshes automatically. You can reply or even just sit in and watch!
Tell me thoughts and also- topics! Lets see what happens and then I will announce through Take Root and Write and twitter to come back for info, so make sure you are following me on Twitter or subscribe to TRW through email or feed.
Also spread the word to other christian women!
I LOVE Christian women being an influence!

You can also go ahead and grab the badge for CWTU to put on your blog or networks to share and grow our Tweet Up! The badge will link back to the page on Take Root and Write while we are brainstorming, then I will just change that same page to be the "Official CWTU" Info Page. So the Badge will still work.
Each time we have a CWTU, I will also have a post/page for you to sign into Mr. Linky saying you are Tweeting w/us that night. You will be able to leave your name, blog ect. And follow anyone on Twitter ahead of the Tweet Up if you want.
All info will be very easy to locate on the TRW.

I love it! These "tweetups" are really, really fun and you just don't know where they will lead.
Noelle, I'd suggest you add an event to Twittermoms -- you can use that as an RSVP mechanism. I didn't see this listed, but I love the badges you've already pulled together!
The tutorial would be AWESOME -- any chance you could make it somewhat general, so the book club, wine club, etc. could use it as a way to help educate people on how to join the fun in tweetups? These events seem so daunting until you just dive in and give them a try! Anyway, let me know if there's anything I can do to help!

Yes, will do a generic video tutorial for all, no problem! I think I will use this Tues GNO! I will contact her ( I will find her) and let her know I will be hanging out that night and videoing some! Too funny.
And yes, I know about Events- no date set yet, later this week will know.

Man, you rock. This is a great idea!! I'm totally in, unless of course, I'm off backpacking Europe or something. But other than that, I think my schedule is usually free!!
