Dear Edward and Jacob:
I adore you both. But I'm spending the weekend with Jace. Sorry!
Love,

So, I'm dying to spend my day finishing this book, but I'm in the middle of a huge project at work. :(

You guys go ahead and start talking -- I'll catch up when I finish (my bet is Wednesday). I've already stumbled across a few spoilers, and I don't want any more. (From what I've heard... say it ain't so!)

Lots of good stuff! Very different from Twilight, but definitely my kind of book.

oooh oooh...i've been reading all the chatter from Steph but i've not read...i'll get this on feb's audible credits..

Tell me...how is it in comparison to Sookie Stackhouse?

It's a YA novel so not as sexy for sure (I've only read the first Sookie) but the action is certainly there. More urban fantasy. I like the mythology of angels & demon-hunters.

Clare certainly knows her way around humor too. Clary is quite the independent minded heroine and Jace, well he is quite the snarky protagonist.

We should put Steph's quote at the top!! It's so true. *giggles*

The final book comes out in March and should tie things together. Cassie is now working on a trilogy of prequels.

I'm excited to be able to discuss it with all of you!!

I am close to halfway through. The action is definitely starting to pick up! They've already been to Luke's house and are back talking to the others. And the brother has arrived to talk to Clary.

It's really too bad I can't spend the day in bed reading. Those days are long past me.

Thanks for adding SM's quote. I know today should be a National Holiday...not just so you can read!!! But that would be an awesome side benefit.

I am so close to being done! I do have some questions for you and Steph... I'll post more once I'm done. It's so good. I may be just a little in love with Jace. Not that he's taking Edward's place, but he is carving his own little spot in my world of fictional boyfriends.

Yes, I saw someone's Photo Tab in facebook that read My Fictional Boyfriends...thought it appropo...as is SM's quote. You'll love Jace even more when you finish COA. Such a sarcastic, tortured soul - lovely!!! *giggles*

I have a long line of fictional boyfriends, dating back to Danny Zuko in the 5th grade. :)

Finished last night! Spoilers begin here....

Jace & Clary! Say it ain't so! I read that they were brother and sister on an Amazon review before buying the book (stinkin' amateur reviewer!) but kept trying to convince myself it wasn't true. I think that Clare did leave that door open at the end of the book, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I really like Simon as a sidekick but as a boyfriend, he does nothing for me. I loved the Jace and Clary sexual tension scenes. So sad when Clary figured it out. Plenty of clues dropped for the reader along the way, too.

I like Isabelle's about-face at the end of the book, too. I hope she does return to her bitchy ways in COA. She's much more fun that way. I didn't see the twist with Hodge at all. I was happy for at least one surprise at the end of the book! I loved that Luke was a werewolf, too. I'm not as up on my werewolf mythology as I am on my vampire mythology, but I did like that Clare's werewolves have many of the same properties as Meyer's.

What I'm looking forward to in COA -- More of Clary's mom. I want to hear her side of the story! More of Luke & the werewolves. Definitely more demon hunters and demon hunting. (Reminds me of Superatural -- one of my fave TV shows.) Clary learning to be a shadowhunter and some more of the Silent Brothers history. More than anything, I'm looking forward to more Jace. :)

Will one of you remind me what City of Ashes refers too? I remember thinking as I was reading, "Oh, that's the city of ashes." But now I can't remember. City of Glass is Idris, right?

Not sure if I'll get COB today. My daughter has strep throat. Yuck. Sick kid = perfect day to read, not-so-great day to go to bookstore.
