Dear Edward and Jacob:
I adore you both. But I'm spending the weekend with Jace. Sorry!
Love,

This is the first one I read: http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4723289/1/A_New_Nephilim

There is another one that looks interesting -- Love or War, Your Choice -- but it was just a list of ideas, no story. I haven't had a chance to read any of the others.

Where do I begin???

Jace and Clary -- What relief to hear the words that they aren't brother and sister. I just knew that she couldn't possibly do that, especially in a YA novel. I love the way that their relationship wrapped up. Not too perfect, like Edward & Bella. I thought she hit a much more realistic note there at the end.

The dreams -- I loved how all of the dreams were, indeed, meaningful by the end. Except the fireworks looking like falling angels -- that one irked me a bit. Simon with a rune for the Mark of Cain -- brilliant!

Ithuriel -- Heartbreaking, to say the least. I didn't expect that at all.

I had a feeling about Sebastian/Jace/Valentine, and Simon's comments about Sebastian's blood confirmed it for me. Now that I look back on it, it seems impossible that it could have turned out differently. And Raziel... How fun was that scene?

I did not expect Max's death. I thought it would be someone else. I was a little relieved, though, that it wasn't Isabelle. And I was so glad that we got the big battle scene in this book. That really bugged me about BD.

What else?

I absolutely LOVED CoG! In the bottom of my heart I believed Jace and Clary weren't related. But of course, I was elated when it was confirmed.

One of my favorite parts of the book were around here: ..." If you want me to stop, tell me now...or now....or now"... I about melted.. and of course that night he showed up wanting to spend it with her.. That was a big AWW moment for me.

I can't really claim that before the book came out I thought Sebastian was really V's son. I did think he would be a spy for Valentine and maybe the real Jonathan did in fact die. but as the book went on, I started getting skeptical about Sebastian and before it was stated in the book, I knew he was the real Jonathan.

I was so not expecting Ithuriel to be the prisoner.. I thought maybe V had yet another kid he was torturing down in his 'chamber' lol.. But I loved how everything worked out.

I loved getting to know Jocelyn better. Hearing her side of the story was great and finally finding out that Jace and Clary both were, in fact, experiments and how everything came to be. Even V's little story at the end about him and Jocelyn. And him blaming everything on Clary..

There are so many things I loved in this book. I love how Cassandra wrapped up the series.. (almost) everyone got there happy endings and it just felt *perfect* :D I am one of the few that is fan of BD. but Cassandra did a MUCH better job at tying it in.

I am with you too Ashley, the death of Max was horrible. I seriously thought the Dad.. Robert? was going to die. Not little Max, I hated it.

Okay, my turn, I guess *grins*...always fashionably late to the soiree - LOLz.

I loved the book. There were so many great things about it. I mean, WoW. You two pointed out the majority of them. Loved Sebastian. There has to be a Bad Guy with No Soul Whatsoever in it and sure enough, he fit the role. Loved the fact that there was a Master and an Apprentice, if you will a nod at Star Wars. Valentine and Sebastian-Jonathan. Excellent. Loved the imagery of the Good Angel, Jace and the Fallen Angel (Morgenstern Legacy), Sebastian.

Okay...File Under - Things That Make Me Cry, Weeping Style. Max?? WTH? She killed off Max?? WoW. I know he was the popular "sacrifice" once CC let out that a Lightwood was going to die. But a 9 yo boy (my DS turning 10 next month). Tears were just streaming down my face. I know she did for a reason. No one could forgive Sebastian EVER as a result. No one. Or show him ANY mercy, for that matter. But, Max??

Steph pointed out the forbidden parts..."Want me to stop now??" Yeah. Sweet. Other part I cried, you ask with bated breath. The part where he asks her to "spend the night with him". Okay, the image of the sleeping side by side, their fingers interlocked?? Yup. Tears. Again. And normally, I am one to berate authors for "playing" with the emotions of a reader, but this time...it was genuine. Completely genuine.

Okay. I knew he had an angel stored somewhere. I knew it. So Ithuriel was not a surprise at all. The backstory of Jocelyn with Valentine was interesting. And I loved the fact she ended up with Luke. I liked how Clary "heard" it but couldn't see it...the convo between Amatis (sp?) and Jocelyn.

Mark of Cain?? WoW. And the Rockstar Vampire line from Jace to Simon?? Still leaves me chuckling. Love their interactions. I will miss those. Totally. *shakes head*

Okay, if I had one teenytinyitsybitsy criticism, it would be that it was pretty much everything we expected. I mean not the imagery which was incredibly rich (descriptions of the city, Raziel, the fight between Jace and Sebastian). I guess, I wanted a twist. An unexpected twist. And well, even Max wasn't completely. It was sad but it was one of the possibilities. It left me wondering if CC hadn't released all the cookies/outtakes, etc (which trust me I loved) would it have been more unexpected??

Ashley, I've loved your honesty about your BD opinion. There were no WTH Nessie/Jacob Imprinting moments here and for that I am grateful BUT...I wish CC had kept a little something from us. Hmmm. I may feel differently about it in a few days/weeks.

Oh, and just a (((HUG))) to the two of you, especially, for seeing me through this - LOLz. Seriously. I loved sharing all my demented thoughts/ ideas/newly found links with you. Dang girls...let's start reading so we can fire up a new obsession.

On the other hand, there are the Infernal Devices books.

Alright. Back to my own troubled fictional world, yes, shhhh, I've been writing since late Novemeber. And oh my golly is it convulted now. I need a weekend away from everyone/everything to straighten it all out. Some women dream of a spa getaway, I dream of a writing hole to drop into!!

Ok, once again I'm having to wait before I can read all the latest comments about "City of Glass". DH told me that he bought me a Kindle (VERY early Mother's Day gift, what can I say, he's not really good with surprises, lol) and already put COG on there, but it's not here yet!!! So, I put off buying the real book, but I'll have the electronic version on Monday, so I'll bet I'll be back here by Tuesday evening at the latest to read what everyone thought!!

Oh Amanda - we're looking forward to your review. I know Steph loves her kindle, too.
