twitter moms: the influential moms network

Alrighty, twitterMoms ... my girlfriends & I have started a "ladies nite PJ party" movie club. You know, instead of a book club - we get together & watch chick flicks (grin).

So, I'm asking everyone to weigh in on their faves so we can build up our list for the spring & summer. We've already watched Mama Mia & Calendar Girls.

A little about this group ... we're all moms, we're all over 35, we're all in different fields of work (health care, dental, home school, entrepreneur, teacher) and we all have a great sense of humor.

I turn my master bedroom into a dorm for a night & give the kids the run of the house while we cuddle up on my bed, over stuffed chairs & the like. With munchies we wish we had back in college & jammies that love ya even though you've had kids!

Your feedback is much appreciated!

Thanks,

april

"PS...I Love You" is probably my favorite love story. Oh wait no, favorite is Camelot - the one with Richard Burton. Eeesh. Uhm, Wuthering Heights too.

Not so much a chick flick - not sure what that is really LOL but my favorite movie EVER is "Pay It Forward".

I just saw "Then She Found Me" which I enjoyed as well.

Just saw a great chick flick last night called "The Republic of Love". Slow at first, but the chemistry between the characters is electrifying! Outsourced is not necessarily a chick flick, but is a very light funny quirky movie.

Oh, and if you want something deep that may generate discussion " Bella" is a beautiful movie with a somewhat unconvential ending. Juno might also be a fun one.

One of my all time favorites - Love Actually. You may want to hold it until December since it's Christmas themed (or in July). The Color Purple, The Sweetest Thing (comedy), The Joy Luck Club and a little known flick called Stealing Beauty with a young Liv Tyler (coming of age in Italy).

My absolute favorite is "Working Girl" -- I've seen it so many times my husband refuses to endure it with me anymore. Sigourney Weaver is classic.

I cast my vote for Pride & Prejudice as well, and would add the Bridget Jones movies (which are entertaining, but not as good as the books), Love Actually, (I seem to have a Colin Firth theme going on here) any of the old Doris Day movies, Down With Love is also fun.

You now have me thinking I need to plan some of these! Thanks!
