Hi :)
I recently networked with some other bloggers and it was a wonderful experience and added traffic to my blog! Just imagine if every day you commented on only 3-5 blogs and then connected with the other blogger how much traffic it would bring to your site!
I think it would be a lot faster to grow your readership. Any thoughts? I am also doing this on my social network http://Ruthietalk.ning.com/

I don't know I network correctly (if there's such a thing) but I participate in a several blog carnivals and comment on other folks' blogs regularly. I have my blog's feed linked to my social networks, and use twitterfeed so my post is automatically tweeted. I have only blogged since late October and just recently started seeing my subscriber's list growing. I'm up to almost 60 subscribers which tickles me pink! I also have my blog's address in my email signature too! I'll definitely head over to your site to see what else I can do to increase traffic to my blog.
Hi,
Yes, we have done the same thing with our blog. Its been over a year now (we just celebrated our 100 week of "joint" posting...with a Blogging Carnival. We have 10 bloggers that all have a similar target market (for example, ours is Boomers) We all talk about different Boomer issues, and we are the only one that talks about fashion.
Several of our bloggers have had national attention in the press, and it has helped us all!
Check it out at www.fabulousafter40.com
(you can see the archive posts that we have done at Blogging Boomers Carnival)

I would absolutely be interested in networking with other bloggers. Most of my cross posting has been on other job search blogs and sites like my own but would be interested in others. Check out my blog at www.bloggingforjobs.blogspot.com and send me an email if you are interested in connecting at jmiller-merrell@sbcglobal.net.
I have more than 80 blogs in my feed reader and comment almost every time they write a post. I haven't seen much in return though. I've gained a lot more readers through Twitter than anything I think.
I tried to enter this post below into your blog, and it wouldn't let me! It asked me to enter a code, but it didn's say which code to enter?? I tried it several times??
Hi Ruthie! It's Geneve from twittermoms discussion! My thoughts on marketing in my particular business, which is wedding photography...there are the "old" ways (print ads, bridal shows, making albums for venues, direct mail) and then there are the "new" ways (twittering, friending, networking). My new motto is "stop selling and start connecting!" You are so right that joining local organizations is the way to go. It's a model that you cannot lose in--you either make friends, make new business or both! Have you read "BLue Ocean Strategy?" I don't know how it would apply to the furniture industry, but it changed the way I think about business!
Hi,
I network with other bloggers on LinkedIn, and never (yet) here on Twitter. There's really not that much information about anyone...though it is different here on this TwitterMom group.
I hope if people want some help on marketing their products or services...that you'll hop on over to my blog: http://www.joyofdirectmarketing.com
I've written a book there about lessons I learned from my Dad. He was a great man, and he knew how to survive in any economy...even the Great Depression. He taught me how to do the same, despite hte fact that he was so sad that I was divorced, a single Mom and had to eventually help him and my Mom through some medical hardships. I hope you visit me.
I read all your comments, this is indeed a challenge. marketing takes more time than doing the actual work. i am relatively a new blogger, and i find it really hard to get people to subscribe to my blog even thought i know i have regular readers, they just check my blog every so often. i am not sure why this is happening.
same with comments, i get so many emails with peoples comments but no hardly anyone will comment under the post...
i guess it all takes time and patience.
this is me, if you want to check me out.
comments and suggestions are mostly welcome

I know at first I would really read others blogs and comment like crazy. I would email my friends and ask them to read my blog as well. Now I have a small following and I have connected with some fellow bloggers. It's strange now somebody is reading my blog and I can't come up with ideas for post. I don't feel like I have had a good post in months. I am helping author John Hyde get his blog off the ground
I totally agree with you, Ruthie! Many people think you can just start a blog and people will come. Blogging, if you are wanting an audience outside of your mother, requires that you network with others.
I try to do some networking. I hate the feeling of visiting and commenting just to get traffic, though. Just the thought makes me feel cheap, so I only comment on things that really interest me. I agree, though, that it does help get people to your own blog! I'd just rather form friendships, than get numbers. :-)
Since we're talking blogs here, I guess a little plug would be ok! LOL
