Does your child have a favorite movie they watch repeatedly?

  • Rating: No Rating
My husband and I are Beatles fans and made the mistake of allowing our son Noah to sit and watch Help! one night with us. Ever since then he has requested to watch it every minute of everyday. He even carries the DVD box around the house with him. I think he just likes hearing the music, but he did tell me the other day he wanted to be "John Lemon" when he grew up. I've tried to get him to watch other programs more suitable for children his age, but he still insists on watching that one movie. Good thing I like their music or I'd be going crazy right about now.

All the Shrek Movies. We all love them and have everything memorized.

Right now it's Wall-E. DS walks around the house screaming "EVE-A.....EVE-A"

Thank goodness we are past that stage! But, I can remember a few movies being watched over and over - Shrek and Toy Story are two that I remember.

Worse, was the music. My daughter loved certain songs, and unfortunately some of them were by Britany Spears. Do you have any idea how many times I listened to "Oops, I did it again".

Great question. Our son went through his Toby Maguire (Spider Man) phase two years ago. He has his own portable DVD player as well. We'd limit his watching, so he watched it in two parts. He also saw a book and old vinyl of Paul McCartney and the Beatles. He would keep telling us, "John Lennon and George Harrison died and only Paul and Ringo are alive." I think we have sons with sophisticated taste! Our son is now 6 and has moved on to science experiments. His new favorite TV show is iCarly. He also had us buy The Cheetah Girls Christmas CD three years ago.

LOL! That is so cute. I agree they do have a very grown up taste in things and most of my friends are baffled when they ask him what his favorite movie is. I say start them early. They're going to be fine young men when they grow up with excellent taste in music.
