twitter moms: the influential moms network

If you could only pick one which would you pick? This would be very hard but I think I would pick Twitter but I am visual so love Facebook for all of the pictures but I do not like all of the silly quizzes.

Which would you pick and why?

I would have to say Twitter. I have both but I used twitter a few thousand times more than Facebook on any given day.

I love Twitter and it's great to use when you understand how it works. I have written a very good blog post on understanding Twitter TWION Being A Twitter Open Networker on My No Tall Poppies blog. It's being turned into a Twitter Book soon.

I am uncomfortable with Facebook, because if I allow anyone to become a friend or even reply to an invitation declining, all the information of my friends is open to people that they might not know or want to approach them. So, I limit Facebook strictly to my own family and hope like hell that their friends think I am a boring old granny.

Hi Lesley,

You are definitely not just a boring old grandma :) I have been over at the site learning some exellent twitter info! Can you tell me, I have been looking for weeks so that I am not bothering the heck out of people, why my profile constantly repeats the same posts. I have already checked to make sure that it's NOT checked off to update when I am fiddling with the post, I only want it to update when I post a new post at my blog.

Thanks in advance for any advice, I know it bugs me so it has to annoy other people :)

Julie, go to facebook and delete the last twitter comment and it will give you an option to get permission before it adds a twitter update. HTH

Also torn. I love twitter because it is quick and it is easy to get a large following quickly, however your comments have a shelf life of max 10 mins. Facebook I feel gives more options around a lasting connection and deeper communication. Do like being forced into abbreviated statements. I have linked twitter to facebook to get the benefit of both. However I am trying to sever the link to get a bit more control - but can't remember how I set it up. If anyone knows, please help me!

Facebook - I find it far more personal. Twitter is cool, but very disjointed. That said, I am a newbie and also find Twitter VERY confusing whereas I had FB down the first time I used it!!

I am more of a facebook girl.....most of my friends/family are on facebook. Wish I had equal time for both twitter and facebook, esp. TwitterMoms!

Facebook and Twitter are two social media sites that even though they have their similarities, it's still like comparing apples to oranges. I use them both on a daily basis and wouldn't want to be without either.

Gah! I love both for different reasons. Facebook is more for friends and family you have connected with in real life and a great way to connect with old friends. Twitter is a great medium for connecting and having conversations with people who have knowledge to share. You may end up great friends, or you may have a momentary yet meaningful connection. I love them both!

selective twitter lets me do both! I just add #fb to my tweet and it appears on my facebook status updates- so i don't have to choose! check out the app below my latest tweet @serenamom

Both! Facebook has greater capabilities but I post to both simultaneously using TweetDeck.

This is a tough one for me as well. Even though I am brand spankin' new on Twitter ... I have noticed I haven't been on FB since I joined Twitter recently. I like the simplicity of Twitter, I like that you can get on, accomplish something and go about your day .... so if I must choose one ~ today I choose Twitter :)
