Ever notice how motherhood inspires a whole new language? Perhaps you recognize a few of these new parenting terms that haven't quite made it into Webster's:
Sleevekerchief [sleev-KUR-cheef] noun: What you use to catch your kid's snot when you're out of tissues.
Diapergami [dahy-per-GAWM-ee] noun: That secret parenting fold that turns a nasty diaper into a tidy package ready for the trash.
Keything Ring [kee-THEENG-reeng] noun: What your keychain becomes in a teething pain emergency at the grocery store.
Sound familiar? Every mom has their own set of momfinitions and ParentsConnect and Twittermoms want to know yours in our Momfinitions contest!

Then return to this discussion page, post a comment below summarizing your blog post, and include an active link to your qualifying blog entry. The deadline to enter is July 22, 2009. Winners will be contacted the week of July 27.
And now for the prizing...WOO HOO!

Hey there. I'll refrain from entering the contest because I'm a Dad and I'm lazy but I did write a post about my definitions awhile back. I think they hold up pretty nicely. Enjoy!

So, didn't see any rule limiting to five. Can I do seven? I have extras! Also, slightly confused about where "the most comments" are supposed to be? On my blog? If so, can I just put a couple of my Momfinitions on this page, and the page at ParentsConnect, so as to entice readers to my blog for more?

This was fun! Fun to read and fun to participate in. Here's my link: http://www.petulaw.com/2009/07/my-momfinitions.html. To summarize my momfinitions: They're basically things that I or my kids do that I hadn't thought of a word for so this was a great chance to put a name to some things. (Well, except the stalker one, which we already use.) I'm even going to start using them to see if my kids will start saying them. I'm sure they'll get quite a few strange looks if they do. My 4-year-old daughter will more than likely catch right on 'cause she loves words and saying silly stuff.
