I'm sure none of these are new, but here are some of my favorites:

1. One of the things I have done to get my younger son to eat vegetables is allow him to dip them in ketchup or ranch (low fat) dressing. It's his choice and his stomach, but he will eat almost any vegetable.

2. I serve it as part of a meal like a small serving of strawberries with their sandwiches. Oh they only eat whole wheat. They don't know white exists.

3. We home make our own pizza and they pick the cheese and toppings. They love to decorate it. Like the bread, the pizza is whole wheat as well.

4. I serve the vegetable first and tell them that this is ready first. Because they are usually starving they eat it. I try adding natural spices to give them more flavor and a small amount of butter-like spread.

5. I model good eating habits. They see me eating fruits and veggies for a snack and they always want what I am eating. I keep very little junk food in the house, but we do have some as they need to learn in moderation.

How my kids eat anything and I mean ANYTHING you serve them.

1) Everyone in the family eats the same meal. No special children's food.
2) Everyone in the family eats the meal together with constructive criticism welcome.
3) Everyone in the family helps produce the meal i.e. shopping list, shopping trip, preparation.
4) Everyone is served a little of everything on a small plate so it is easier to "clean your plate" for seconds.
5) Nuggets, pizza and burgers are saved for field trips to fast food restaurants.
