Last year we started a tradition in which the moms in our community banded together and produced the world's first "tweetable" catalog -- meaning, if you found something you liked you could simply click a button and share a link to the item online via Twitter.

The catalog was a big success with hundreds of submissions from our enterprising group. In fact, it was so successful that producing the catalog nearly ruined my marriage since my husband got stuck with most of the work to pull it all together! So, we asked our friends at TweetMeme if they'd supply us with a custom microsite for this year's catalog. It's up and looking good! Now, all that's required is to get your products and services listed on the hub page.

Visit the
TwitterMoms 2009 Holiday Catalog to get an idea of how moms are listing their products and services.
Next, copy the URL of an item you'd like to include in the catalog. It can be something you sell, a book you've written, jewelry you've made, services you offer -- whatever. Shorten that link using your favorite URL shortening service (I use
Bit.ly). Just be sure to keep your posting "on topic" for the holidays.
Then, log in to your Twitter account and write a descriptive tweet about the item and why it's a great gift for the holidays. Include your link in your tweet and include the following hashtag:
#tmhc
Including the hashtag and the URL are critically important -- without both of them, your item won't be picked up in the holiday catalog.
You can then visit
http://holidays.twittermoms.com to view your posting (it may take a few minutes to show up). Once there, you can log in with your Twitter account to leave additional comments that might be important for prospective shoppers. Encourage your fans and followers to retweet your links and make comments. Let's have fun with this!
That's it. All we need is you. Let's get your holiday products and services listed in the Second Annual Mom Powered Tweetable Holiday Catalog!
*Note - We are entering these by hand into the catalog, so they will be posted within 24 hours of your tweet. Don't fret if you do not see it instantly published in the catalog!
