Has anyone had a Tummy Tuck??

  • Rating: 5 after 2 votes
I realize that this is an extremely personal question but I'm putting it out there regardless because, well, I just might need one. I'm on a weight loss mission and if some of you have seen my blog I'm all stomach. As I'm losing weight, it is going down, but in more of a "deflatable manner" to the point where once I get to my target weight...I just might have a fanny pack in the front! All I'll need is a zipper and voila...built in hand bag!

I only personally know one person who's had one and I just want to know or hear more stories, good, bad or indifferent...or even if anyone's used an alternative method like the Titan Laser?

As much as I would like to "embrace" my postpartum body...I just can't seem to get over that skin that might be hanging in the end. I'm blessed with a husband that doesn't care, but I do.

Your experiences or the experiences of friends or family you know would be appreciated!

Hello ladies! I too suffer from the "mommy pooch" and also did research regarding tummy tucks. I was always very leary when it came to surgeries because I've seen so many go wrong, so I definitely urge anyone looking in to surgery to really do your homework before making the costly decision. On the other hand, I also believe you should exhaust all measures before going with surgery. If you are living a healthy lifestyle, you may want to look into reshaping garments as a tool. The same medical grade compression garments that surgeons use for recovery of tummy tucks is something you can use to aid in the firmness and replacement of organs within your system naturally. Of course it is a process, but it's less expensive, doesn't involve going under the knife, and its not painful. I use a garment called the Body Magic, not sure if anyone here has heard of it. I have wore it for a little over a month now and have saw 7 inches disappear from my tummy, including the pooch. It is lifting and toning naturally.

I HTH, you can contact me if you would like more info regarding it.

Kelly,

My older sister and mother both had tummy tucks. Our stomachs does not have enough elasticity, so after having children, we have the fanny -pack look you referred to. I am considering one in the future, but I am going to wait because I want to have more children.

My sister got pregnant years after getting her tummy tuck, and she could only gain 15 pounds. I don't want to have that restriction.

I haven't heard of the body magic but I used my Belly Bandit shortly after my cesarean and it did definitely help to get the ball rolling. I'm definitely doing my homework but I'm also still not at my ideal weight so I'll see how things go. If that skin that I have doesn't bounce back and it hangs...I'll definitely need some help in that department!

Thanks Kelly - the life style lift is a version of the face lift; it gets rid of jowls & the "chicken neck." I'm going to my plastic surgeon this week for consult. [had cancer removed from my face earlier this year, now have joaquin phoenix looking scare on my mouth] - anyway going to get that fixed. considering getting "the girls" [wink] a lift too. :)
