I would love to hear how you are going to celebrate the Inauguration of President Obama on Tues, 1-20-09.

Are you gong to the event in Washington? Are you hosting a party attending a party? Details, details, details, lol! :)

Okay I am so excited I just can't contain myself. Now I know someone here is going to Washington and is excited. I was going to do that myself but thought OMG it is going to be so much going on there let me do something local.

So I have been invited to Detroit to two inaugural parties on formal and one casual. The formal one will be with movers and shakers in the political arena in Detroit and the casual one will I bet that will be the most fun lots of dancing and celebrating. Wahooo! ;)

I am still in awe about this whole thing and probably will be a mess when I celebrate but who cares we are going to be able to make a difference and some changes. So hey I would love to hear what and how you are going to celebrate.
I worked in the campaign office in my state and had an invitation to go to the Inauguration (and other events) BUT my family obligations prevented me from going. At first I was devastated....then the media started talking about the chaos and inflated prices and I decided maybe it wasn't so bad that I wouldn't be there.

I'll be at Greenwood Cultural Center watching the inauguration.

Many of my "Obama friends" did get to go to the inauguration and thanks to Facebook and iphones I've been able to live vicariously through their adventures!

I know don't you just love Social Media Marketing, lol!
Thanks ladies it's great to hear that in some way you will be watching. Being a part of this historical moment in one way or another is what it is all about. Sounds like a political stance huh, lol! :)
I'll be following the Smart Girl Politics Ball on Twitter tomorrow night. It's sort of a Festivus for the Restofus for the 47% that lost. :) There will be fun and prizes!! Formal attire is optional. Use #SGPball
Well.. to be honest I'm celebrating by taking action where I think I can make the most difference. And... it's kind of going to be a new course for me in my overall life mission.

I am someone who is very passionate about how we take care of our planet. The environment is important to me. I also love business and have been an entrepreneur for 20 years, which has had a lot of really great successes as well as failures ( or should I say 'learning experiences').

Anyhow, I believe that entrepreneurialism is going to get us out of this economic/climate change mess, and I feel it's got to start with a stimulus plan that brings in a demand for green energy, green products and services. Now is the time for people make changes, and not work for 'the man' anymore. This is a great time for people to work for themselves and to take advantage of this new green economy.

But... being an entrepreneur isn't always so easy. So I'm going to put my energy this year into building a Green Business Resource Center , in which I share really great free and cost effective resources. There's all kinds of free templates and information on how they can grow their business, where to get funding, as well as free help with financial, marketing, website optimization, and operations. ( For the record, I am adding a few affiliate programs in there for programs that I think are really good, which is how I'll monetize the site... along with Google Adsense).

My goal is to create a portal, where I can do my best to help green businesses succeed.
I have these cause based cartoon characters that we developed at one point. I haven't had the chance to do anything with them yet. I feel like there is something that can be used there to celebrate the Obama Inauguration, as people figure out where to volunteer. Anyhow... if anyone has thoughts, here the link to the characters and their causes: http://www.petboogaloo.com/causes.html
Well, up here in Canada there is tons of buzz about your incoming President. We are stuck with a bit of a right-ish bore as our Prime Minister so tomorrow we'll be living vicariously through you. One fun thing that our national radio station (CBC - its a bit like PBS) is doing is they have asked litsteners to create a Canadian play list for Obama called: 49 Songs form North of the 49th Parallel http://www.cbc.ca/radio2/blog/2008/12/29/49_songs.html. Tomorrow they will unveil the finalists, I look forward to hearing the final choices.
Have fun tomorrow.

No celebration here.
I so wish I was going to be celebrating in DC but couldn't go, so am having a celebratory "Inaugural Lunch" with some good friends at my house and we will watch it together live, I am so excited for our new president and our country!
I'm just trying to catch up...have you ever seen such a media blitz as this? I have yet to rewatch the HBO filmed pre-inaugural celebration, like three more times, and enlighten my children as to who all of these amazing superstars are. Talk about a walking, talking history book!

Favorite glimpses so far...reggae, country-wide folksongs reborn, Garth's range, Cheryl Crow without a Snugli (c'mon, babies like music too!), and of course, THE Stevie Wonder.

Wow!
Carla, sorry but it just another day for me. I just pray for my family members that will be covering Obama's security details keep President Obama safe and will watch on the Inauguration on t.v. He does hold a real promise for our country to get back on track. With Obama the American Dream will live on "Yes, We Can".
