How can I make my moms group more active?

  • Rating: No Rating
So we have a forum that the group is hosted on and 13 members and more coming, but the board just seems so quiet. The most popular thing I think we have is the question of the day. But other then that I don't know how to get people talking and sharing with each other. They aren't really showing up to that many playdates either :( Any advice to get things moving?

You may try asking questions that everyone can answer & pertains to the subject the forum is about. Heck, you can even go off topic a bit.

It sounds like it is for mom's with toddlers?. Most everyone will tell a funny story that their kid did or maybe a word that they have tried to teach their kid & the child just says it funny.

If it is family oriented then you may even ask about pets, where they buy kid shoes, what gets __ stain off a chair, funny nicknames their kids have, TV shows... Even if it may not be happening in your house, it would be a great way to get the conversation going.

It is likely that you will have to lead the way for questions. But, most people will talk about their favorite things, you just have to have enough variety to hit those things. LOL!

I hope this helps,

I have noticed that my forum of 225 members, for parents, gets quiet too often also. It usually happens when I get busy. I wish I had more members that would lead the conversations. We just started playgroups for the forum and it is slow to start as well.

Hang in there, and lead by example. I am trying that for now, and hopefully at some point we will have members who are starting topics more often.
