twitter moms: the influential moms network

This morning I had to keep myself from slapping my husband again (just kidding) because he couldn't find the kids gloves. They are in the same place since 5 years and I wonder how it is possible that he can't find them when they are in front of his nose.

Even if I tell him exactly where to find them, he tells me they are not there. In some mysterious way the gloves reappear when they hear me approach LOL. I could even find them blindfolded.

THis drives me completely nuts. Guys rather ask then look and even if they look they don't see it. GRRRRR.

Anyone with similar experiences ??

I like the uterus homing device idea!! My male teens act as though they can't find anything.

The same thing here - about the gloves today, too!! I think after a few years of togetherness there's a blind faith when it comes to finding something. They've replaced the "where is it or where did I put it" spot in their brain with something else.

I haven't quite figured out what else could be taking up that valuable gray real estate though!!

ROTFLMBO! I think it is a man thing, lol! Yeah I know there are exceptions but geez! I call it the path of least resistance they know we are going to tell them so why look, lol! Then again if glasses are involved that could be an issue to. I have been told if you can't see you can't hear either. While we are on it what about the hearing thing now get this did ya know that men's ears are further towards the back of their heads than women no wonder we hear everything.

He, he, he I know we could put everything they ask for by the REMOTE control, lol!

Have a great day all!

Ready for some psycho-babble?

The things we ask them to find are not as much of a priority to them as they are to us.

i.e. Have him ask you "Where's the remote?" (assuming he loves TV) he will tear the house apart to find it, or he will simply turn it on manually, and sit down. Either way the TV is on. That was the priority to him in the first place.

OH, the similarities between husbands and small children... The hubby is always opening the fridge or cabinet and asking me where something is. If it were a snake it would have bit you!

Yo ! but he wouldn't need to tear the house apart because he will probably carry it around in his pocket LOL

But the underwear question must have priority or do you reckon guys would rather leave the house without hehe

My husband said if I die before him he's screwed. He's become so dependent on me finding things, scheduling things, taking care of the kids he wouldn't be able to do it if I were gone. It's scary! I am trying to delegate more & not do everything for everyone. He is getting better too. Now he can at least find his wallet. He still asks me where things are even though they are right there in front of him. Unfortunately, he's passed this gene to our children.

Ok, I am LMAO because this is so true and funny. We call it a "boy look" in my house. Hubby will look for something for 20 minutes, announce he can't find it and then I will go to the same table, closet, drawer whatever and find it in 2.5 seconds.
I once heard that there is an actual evolutionary, anthropological reason as to why guys "boy look" and why women are *meant* to be horrible at giving directions and driving - - it goes back to hunting and gathering days. Men needed to navigate and see far in order to go hunting for food for days at a time and then return to the cave, while women's vision was more adept to fine details and things that are close by so that we could watch the children, keep them close and sew together the sheepskins LOL
It sorta makes sense, I like it as an explanation...
