How do you deal with a mega-grumpy 7 year old?

My darling 7 yo daughter is starting to be incredibly grumpy, mulish, and unpleasant when she doesn't get her way or the right amount of attention, etc. It feels like it's starting to be a pattern to get her way. Anyone else have this experience? What do you do?

My 5y old is exactly the same way. She will actually tell me that she is so angry and act grumpy and be very mean to her little sister. I ignore it and sooner or later, she'll come around. May not work for all kids but that's what I do. I think if you give in, she'll know that she'll get her way.

I'm having this situation right now too. My 6 year old just whines all the time about everything. I haven't found a solution yet, so I'll keep an eye on this discussion for sure!
