Florida legislators are considering a bill that would cut state aid to libraries. Some smaller, rural libraries would close and others could have to reduce programs.
I use our Leesburg library often to get books for my child and for myself. It also has some wonderful programs throughout the year that we take advantage of.
How do you use your library? What would you do if it closed? If you are in Florida, take action! http://tiny.cc/0gAOv
Here in upstate New York all our libraries are connected via computer access. You can get books sent to your library from other ones who have the book you want. The reason for this is because of our system up here. We have villages (real small places) towns, and the cities. It works well this way. What I do is since I like to buy my books, (not anymore, I got a Kindle2 and I use it now) I donate my books to our library which is real tiny. They don't know it's me but they do know that lady whose kids bring in books though. So that's what I do. Our village doesn't get much money for books and stuff so they have book sales and rummage sales and stuff like that to make ends meet. They have I think only one paid person and the rest are volunteers. But I like our library.
