How many is too many?

  • Rating: No Rating
I've noticed TLC has been having it's fair share of television shows featuring rather large families. Now immediately when I see them I go "Wow those people are nuts!" but than you watch a little more and you think about how much fun it must be for those kids to be surrounded by so many kids! You never have to worry about having to find someone to play with, but is there such a thing as having too many? Most of them all live by the philosophy of "However many God wants to give me." and it just makes the wheels in my head turn. I don't think I'd really mind having a large family, but my husband would beg to differ. What do you guys think?

Well, we decided that we can't fit any more people in our tiny house, so we probably shouldn't have more than this last (fourth) one. :) I tell people that if we got a bigger house, I'd be all for having a couple more!

Ha ha well you never know maybe you will get that bigger house one day. I just need to convince my husband that 2 is not enough.

Right now we have 6 and I am up to having a few more. It will just depend if God allows my body to have more.

As many as you can afford. That is my philosphy. If you cannot afford 10 children, don't have them. If you can, more power to you. I have 4 children from my first marriage and my husband has one from his first. We have one child together and to us, that is enough. My mom raised seven children.

i loved having two brothers and a sister. we always played out in our pasture (mowed a baseball field out there) and we did always have someone to play with. get togethers are a lot of fun too....i want to have more than one child, even though i freaks me out to think of it now.

As long as the parents can afford to take care of them all without charity and also have quality time for them all it's their decision to make. Personally, I would not be capable of it.

ITA. Whether you want 1 or 20, you should have the time and money to do it. If you don't, any number can be too many.
