How Many Twitter Accounts?

Do you have more than one Twitter account? If so.. How many? Do they serve different purposes?

I started out with just my personal Twitter account - the one I update "on-the-go" from my cell phone that's always updated. It's shared privately but only because having so many spam bots trying to follow it, really weirded me out.

I started a second account that was meant to accompany a blog I was writing at the time about decorating my house on a budget. I updated it only about things pertaining to the house. I don't really use it any more because I no longer have any use for it.

Then I started a third account [I know.. crazy, right?] for another blog I write. It's exclusively for updates pertaining to a virtual world I create products for and write news about.

Crazy me started a fourth account [phew!] for my public blog The Diary of the Short, Fat Cyclops. Like my personal twitter account, it's made of personal updates but it's open to be followed. A lot of the updates are the same as what is found in my personal twitter account, but it offers some blog related only tweets as well.

Yes I have 2 twitter accounts.
http://twitter.com/pmku - this account is used more for personal tweeting and for my blog. I have a lot of updates here and try to be engaging with my followers.
http://twitter.com/happypandababy - this account is for my online business. I have a lot of fellow business owners that follow me here. This account is updated with company news, events and the company blog.

Personally, my brain can only handle ONE Twitter account. But, since starting to work at 5 Minutes for Mom, I have had to start managing their account for contests giveaways every once and again, being that I am the Contests Administrator, so I kind of need those winners! LOL!

My personal account is at http://twitter.com/sillyownes and you can also follow us at 5 Minutes for Mom at http://twitter.com/5minutesformom

I only have one, but I like everyone's ideas for having more than one and what you use them for. Makes me think about it in a different way.

I have two plus one I manage for my company. It can get confusing! One is me personally tweeting about random things including my family, life and work. One is me anonymously tweeting as an industry expert., trolling for job offers! I used to have a few blogs but they've all been replaced by Twitter. Waaayyyy more efficient use of my time.

I have two. One that I use to participate in Twitter parties, so my followers don't get bombarded with random hashtag tweets and then the one I use all the time. @BarbaraBoser. It's about all I can handle.

I staterted out with 2 - one for my buisness and one personal but I have stopped posting to my business one.

WHY?

Because people respond to people not businesses. I am currnetly studying a social media course under the biggest expert in Social Media (this guy started from scratch and made over $600,000 in just 9 months on Twitter so he knows his stuff!)

His advice is just have the one Twitter account. It works best because twitter is unlike any other social media - people are on there for diversity. (a load of other reasons too but too numerous to go into and also don't want to give away his whole system!)

Just some food for thought

I have one for each of my blogs. I then use Twitter Feed to send the RSS feed of each blog to it's own Twitter account. My blogs are so different that they have totally different audiences. I think you need to send the blog links since Twitter is really a top ranking search engine.

I have 4 twitter accounts.

I have one account for the forum; another account for my best sites list; an account for my online store, and a general follow account that I use to build up followers.

I started with the account for my store. Then, I thought up the following account. I wanted to tweet about the forum, but thought it might lose something if tweeted from a store account.

These were all when guestbook was working. I don't have that many followers on each account nor the time to build up followers. Therefore, I used guestbook to get the word out.

I like twitter, but it's time consuming. I might try to check into TweetLater so I can schedule tweets without sitting on twitter all day.

I've 1 account on twitter which is for both personal and business.
During this summer it was more personal because of the kids
being home and the only thing i manged to do was get my membership
site up. Now it my turn all business with a few personal tweets.

I've found that 1 account is enough for both for me. I would rather get
to know my followers and have them see me as a real person than any
thing.
