Ok so ladies I need your help! I'm interested in starting my own day care in Brooklyn, NY. I would love to know how much you pay for day care and your ideas and comments are always welcome. Thanks.

I currently pay $260 a week for my 15 mth old on Long Island.

Please take my 5 question survey, I would really appreciate it.
thanks.

My friend runs a day care here in Vermont and she charges $100 a week. I've been watching twin 2 years old for $50 a day. That would be $125 a week.
My kids are 16 and 14 and when they were in child care I remember paying $120 a week. I was surprised to hear that my friend's daycare was still so inexpensive. I told her she needs to up her prices.
I guess child care hasn't raised like our normal inflation has (unless you live in NYC).

Here in NC daycare costs is up, but salaries have remained the same. For an infant - 2 year old, you will pay $225-$250 a week. So it's so important to shop around because there are hole-in-the-wall joints that charge the same amount as a quality child care center.

A really good deal would be $135 a week, but again there will be a fine line between licensed and unlicensed operations which could put the kids at risk.

I could write a book of my experiences with daycares and the process of searching, I have 4 children and it's not worth working when I'm constantly worrying about the well being of my children.

Keep your prices competitive, however, I know that I would be willing to pay any amount so as long as my child is learning something and making progress, and most importantly, they are SAFE.

Hope this helps, hey and Good Luck!

I used to pay $200 per week 3 to 4 years ago at a home day care. 7:30 to 4:30.
or $50 per day

If it was a center then I would have been paying at least $1250 per month for an under 2.

Our daughter (3) is in a church preschool and we were paying $650 full time per month.
3 half days is $340 per month.

We are in southern California, hope this helps.

I'm in Houston TX and I pay $140/week for my 6 month old. At 24 months, it will go to $120. This is for any 5 days of the week for a maximum of 12 hours/day (they are open 24/7).

Plus Activity fees and supply fees galore non-stop.. ridiculous.. I have no idea what they are supplying?

My son will be 4 in June and we pay $220 per week. We are in California (the SF Bay Area.) It has decreased since he's gotten older but it doesn't include meals or anything, just snacks (2 x per day) so we still pack his lunch, etc...

I live in South Huntington, NY (Long Island) and babysit for a 4 year old and a 2 year old in their home and make $100.00 per day. My hours are 7:30-4:00. The only problem is that their mom is a teacher so any day she is off I don't get paid. I've been thinking of doing this in my own home as well.
