How would your life be today, if you had it the way you once dreamed?

All of us when we are kids, dream of a fairytail. I had the normal one, Prince Charming and a house full of kids, and in some degree, I finally got my fairytale. What was your's and how did it change?

My childhood dream was to have an Arabian horse farm. I got three 2yo fillies in the fall. Not exactly how I would have started had circumstances been different, but they are all rescues and I love them dearly. It has been an enjoyable challenge to help them overcome their fears.
My mother tells me that I said I wanted 12 kids when I was little, but I don't remember that. LOL I did want a large family, and have the most wonderful husband in the world. At this point in life we now aspire to grow our business to the point that he can quit work and we can enjoy financial freedom. I am convinced that we'll do it; how long depends on how long it takes him to catch up. I have been studying, and reading self development books for the past 5 years, and have embraced the fact that your perception of reality IS your reality. If we tell ourselves something often enough, we'll believe it, and it will become our reality. Though that is really hard to get your head around (or it was for me) I have come to accept it as fact. Hubby is coming from a poverty mindset (as do many Christians). I don't get it either. Why are Christians so set on misquoting the scripture that says "the love of money is the root of all evil"? Money or wealth is not at all evil, else that would mean that Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, David, Solomon, and all the rest were overcome by evil because they sure were wealthy. I say this to say - if you had dreams as a child, don't give up on them. Obviously Maya had to switch gears when she was injured. But somehow we get reprogrammed as adults to set aside dreams. I lost 20 years of opportunity to live my dreams because of that. We should ask ourselves "what would you do/be if you knew you couldn't fail?" And then determine to do it - with failure not being an option. What a legacy we could give to our kids! Not in terms of money, but in terms of attitude and determination.

Wow, Amen!
I too, was told the mis quote of the bible for a long time... The I realised that it actually meant the LOVE of Money Not Money itself.
The way you explained yourself and your family was so wonderful I look forward to talking with you more.
Oh and I too have learned to make my own reality Better, through my Own thinking:)

I happen to be a christian who is trying to educate other christians on how to not be such a$$es. I agree that bible quotes are heavily misquoted and I hate that. Back to the subject: my dream of teaching is taking a little longer than I wanted, but it's getting there. I taught for a while, but then had my son. Now I'm going back to school to get my master's in English lit to teach college. I am also a musician, and, although I don't play at large venues and get paid lots of money, I do have a regular gig at a local church and am often asked to play for other churches and I'm very happy bringing my message to the small groups, rather than the masses. They need people too!
