So we did this heated discussion on LnL,
http://tinyurl.com/mcbju5 all about whether or not schools (mostly high schools, although it could start in middle schools) should make it mandatory to test students for STD's (Sexually Transmitted Diseases).
Our discussion all started when I read about a pilot program in D.C. where STD testing is being OFFERED to students (it's not mandatory), and they're already receiving a lot of flack.
Now, before you go all "pooh, pooh" on me let me give you a very real and scary statistic. In D.C., half...let me say that again, HALF of all gonorrhea and chlamydia cases are amongs ADOLESCENTS!! HALF people!
I say knowledge would be extremely helpful in trying to stop this rising epedemic amongst our teens! Course' my friend Kate completely disagrees with me! She feels it takes away from our CHOICE. I'm all about choice, but I'm also all about being informed!
Am I nuts!?
