.. honestly? It's idiotic! Smoking Pot is no better than smoking tobacco..and let me tell you.. cancer SUCKS!!! .. and any self respecting mom should keep that crap away from their kids.
Need to chill? Drink ONE glass of wine... Go for a walk...crank the music and dance around the living room..or heck... buy a vibrator, use it.. and take a little nap.

My best friends and I pass the Mommy of the year award around as a joke. LOL But our main thing is the kids will go to counseling for something. May as well be something we believe in!
Interesting topic as I just researched the whole medical marijuana issue for WA state 2 days ago. Hubby told me that my disorders were included. UMM, sure, but you still have to buy from a dealer or you have to grow your own and then you have to worry that the court may not like your reason. It's not sold in a pharmeucy here so there is not "prescription" for it, it's a docs note.
I plan on talking to my two really good cop friends about it in the morning. One's a capt and the other has been in for 20 years, over 40years between them. So I'm interested in their take.
But my take is, if I have to sneak around to get it I just can't. I'd be here freaking out waiting to get caught and waiting for the cops. I couldn't chill. That's just my guilty conscience and that SUCKS! lol I don't take painkillers cause I'm afraid to be addicted with the huge family history, so some pot for the bad days sure would be awesome.
I'm not saying that my wine, martini's or beer are any better, not by any means. I'm just saying I don't have to worry about the cops coming to my door if I'm drinking alcohol. If you are not driving under the influence of any substance, I'm all for legalized drugs. Stupid, is stupid, doesn't matter what you are drinking or taking, you need to be responsible.
I would love to hear from people who suffer from chronic pain or mental disorders such as Panic Attacks or General Anxiety Disorder. Is it better for physicians to prescribe something like Oxycodone, which is probably the most addictive legal drug known to the human race? Maybe some Valium or Xanax? The pharmaceutical companies are making massive amounts of money. My prescription for G.A.D. costs $110.00 a month. My sister spends about 2K a month on prescription medicine. She has had eight back operations and is in constant pain.
I’m not saying that Yoga might not possibly help, exercise and diet too. Until you or someone very close to you has suffered from somthing crippling, or felt like they were going to die from repeated panic attacks, I think it’s hard to really grasp the big picture. No one really knows the total benefits or side effects because no one has ever truly been able to do the research on it because they cannot get approval from the government. From the little research that has been done, it appears that the health benefits outweigh the side effects, especially when you consider the side effects of drugs such as Oxycodone. Not to mention the whole other side of it being a true renewable resource that grows pretty much everywhere and easily. It would be wonderful to save some of the trees, don’t you think?
No, I am not a pothead. I am a single mother that has struggled very hard for the majority of her life. If it was legal, I would absolutely use it in moderation if it were prescribed.
As for it being a gateway drug, I believe alcohol -which is legal- is the first gateway drug. Marijuana may be the next step in that progression, but those that fall into the “gateway” would have more than likely made it there with the use of alcohol alone if marijuana didn’t exist.
As with all drugs, it shouldn’t be prescribed to young people unless they have extenuating circumstances like a terminal illness.
I have seen many adults addicted to all kinds of prescription drugs, and marijuana is just not addictive. If you have Netflix, take some time and watch a couple of good documentaries on the issue.
Oh, yeah. What about all the money it would save the government in the war on drugs? It would almost remove the black market for it? It would make the government massive amounts of money if it were taxed.
If it were legalized, it would have to be used in an appropriate manor as with any other prescription drug. As with any other drug there will be people that do not use it properly, just as with alcohol and prescription drugs.

I work in the mental health field, and I also have a husband that has smoked pot since he was a teenager. I would argue the issue to the ground about pot being addictive. No, I do not think it is physically addictive, but mentally, it can be a crutch. I don't think this post was started about the issue of medical pot, so much.....I think a lot of people would probably not have an issue with that. Pain killer addiction is real bad, so medicinal use of marijuana would probably be better.
My husband is an entirely different human being when he has weed and when he does not. He had to quit this "habit" for job searching and my life turned into hell. He did not have the ability to cope with simple day to day noise, or day to day life with kids, etc.... We almost lost our marriage over this issue alone, and all it led to. If you have read any of my posts, you'll know that I do not judge....I wrote my own post about quitting "mama's little helper", which for me, was my nightly wine. I understand the need as a parent in this budy life to have a little mental relief....that said, weed can control your entire world if you let it, just like wine, pain killer drugs, etc.....it all depends on the person and situation.
