Hi Michelle,
darnit, I'm trying to figure out how to explain it - I need a tag to prevent this window from processing the HTML. When I figure it out I'll be back!
Actually I studied computer science in college, and have been working in network management software for 11 years. Not that that automatically means I understand the Wordpress interface, mind you.
Incidentally, your URL to your LinkedIn profile is incorrect. The URL you have there is the one that works if you're logged in to LinkedIn - if you click on it, it goes to your profile, but if I click on it, it goes to mine!
You need to "View Your Profile" and find the URL labeled "Public Profile." Mine looks like this: http://www.linkedin.com/in/chastings so it should look something like that.
Anyway, when it comes to the TwitterMoms badge not appearing, I can see that the embed tag and the code for the badge just isn't there (like that stuff I pasted in above), but why it isn't there, is something I have no way of knowing. You pasted a huge block of code in, right? After saving it still just didn't appear? Or could it have been a problem where you didn't save the file correctly and re-publish it?
Remember, you need all that stuff like this (first and last angle brackets removed to make example):embed src="http://static.ning.com/twittermoms/widgets/index/swf/badge.swf?v=3.8.5%3A10867" quality="high" scale="noscale" salign="lt" wmode="transparent" bgcolor="#ffffff" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" width="206" height="64" allowScriptAccess="always" flashvars="networkUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.twittermoms.com%2F&panel=user&username=3prmnlekvzr4c&avatarUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fapi.ning.com%2Ffiles%2F-TyuqQ7mcNTwgjTmZJStD7HQFAegbLsfkH5WLXY5%2AEtQu41k0N4WKv72JbmNseFX3MsmCASaZJwQDJMrxthNKk2VEgyQtI4V%2Fmehendrik.jpg%3Fwidth%3D48%26height%3D48%26crop%3D1%253A1&iAmMemberText=I%27m+a+member+of%3A&configXmlUrl=http%3A%2F%2Fstatic.ning.com%2Ftwittermoms%2Finstances%2Fmain%2Fembeddable%2Fbadge-config.xml%3Ft%3D1226509936"
