Need your help: What things do your neighbors do that really get on your last nerves

  • Rating: No Rating
I am planning to write a blog on the things that neighbors do that are NOT very neighborly (make neighbor upset) and doing an unscientific survey of the most popular ones (the DONT's).

This is for my newly launched website and community blog to help connect neighbors using practical ways, education and inspiration (http://www.toolzdo.com/community).

Here is what I have thus far from my own experience (if you have similar than what is already mentioned, mention them again as I am trying to come up with the top 5 or 10):
*Letting the dog unload right on my front lawn and not picking up after the dog
*Playing loud music after hours
*Littering specially on my property (mostly teenagers)

What about you? What are some of the things that your current neighbor or neighbor of old have done that really made your blood boil?

Thanks for sharing Sherri. That's a good one. It actually brings to mind a similar experience when I visited my parents. Grrrrrrrr! I hope it gets better soon. Have you tried talking to your neighbor about it?

Our (ex) neighbors were smokers and they would smoke and just flick the cig. butts onto our lawn. I hated that and not to mention their constantly barking dog. I am so glad that we sold. I never want neighbors like that again.

My neighbor has an outdoor spotlight that goes on at all hours. I understand that it is for security, but it shines directly into my bedroom!

The people next door play their music constantly and very loud. Even when they are not outside. It drives me nuts! So much for the suburban oasis that should be my back yard.

I also hate that there is a dog down the street that escapes to my yard under my gate all the time. Poor little fellow is going to be road kill someday.

Knock on wood we are surrounded by wonderful people and we live in a beautiful neighborhood where people take much pride in their homes...HOWEVER, our neighbor who is a lovely man seems to have NO CLUE when it comes to his yard. He gets the front, yet his back looks like the amazon jungle! Thank goodness we all have huge fences but when I look out my back window, it bugs the @#@$@! out of me that our neighbor doesn't mow his back yard!
As I mentioned, he's a lovely man, he's just clueless!

Let their kids play in the street. The ten year old "watches" the two year old. It makes me a nervous wreck.

This is a stupid one, but it cheeses my husband off to no end when our neighbor mows over the property line - it's like he thinks she's trying to steal his land, bit by bit, like if she mows it enough she can claim it as hers.

Other than that, we've been pretty lucky with our neighbors.

My neighbours are OK but my parents's neighbours have the habit of taking our stuff in the yard, probably using it and returning them in a few months, without asking us! They also never say hi even though my parents always say hi to them. Just crazy.
BTW, I have an online community for women "Network For Wives". If you would like, I can help feature your blog in our community. Just let me know.
