Hi! Over the years my daughter and I have butted heads on many issues, but was thrilled this past weekend when she was home from college for a few days. Out of the blue, she inquired if it would be okay to wash the dog. Oh, I loved this! Of course my response was "Sure!" I am still on cloud 9! ; )
My daughter did the Santa's workshop at school, and even though she really wanted to buy something for herself, she didn't because she wanted to get her cousin something a little more expensive... and I wasn't even there, and no adults were really helping her.
I have a 3 1/2 yr old little girl, and we got hit with a stomach bug this past week, and i was laying on the couch feeling pretty bad, so she wandered in and brought me the (unopened of course) bottle of her childrens pepto bismol and told me "Here mommy, have some tummy medicine" to try and make me feel better
My three year old assisted me when I had to give my 1 year old his amoxicillin. My big boy insisted on wiping his brothers mouth after everytime I got a little more medicine down his throat.
Washing dogs is a nice thing to do....since I don't enjoy it at all! : ) Yesterday, at the bowling alley, my 9 year old gave some of her prize tickets to a little girl about age 3 who didn't have enough to get anything. It's really cool when you get to see them do those things (when they don't know that you're watching).

My 13 year old and I are at war this week, but I won and she's working hard to get school caught up before break happens on friday.
My son, 10, has been pretty caught up, only slight issues on his reading log. Dad's on shift tonight and I had to work at gym late. I made dinner before I left and I know the 13 year old turned off the stove after they ate, she understands why. But youngest texted me when I'd be home and miraculously the stove was back on. It ruined the rice (super crispy) but he meant well. I know it was him because most of the stir fry was cold. lol
What a great thing he tried to do. He wanted to make sure Mom had a warm meal when she got home. I made sure and pretended I didh't understand how the rice was so crispy and ignored having to make more rice. lol His feelings are so fragile.

Just need to do a quick add of my youngest' nice thing he did this week. He texted me to find out when I was coming home from work and I didn't think anything of it. I had made dinner before going to work and of course the kids had it still on the stove. lol But he turned everything back on warm so it would be warm when I got home. Awww, what a sweetie. Only thing was, the rice was already drying out because it had been sitting out for hours, so it was crispy when I got home.
Thankfully I just asked if they had forgotten to turn it off and didn't make a big deal of it. No one fessed up to it so I'm glad I didn't push the issue. It took me a few minutes to figure out what probably happened and he was just being a sweetie so Mom could have a warm dinner. :)
