Over Vaccinating Children?

I'm sorry to reply so late to your question. My uncle died, thanksgiving came and hubby had to leave for a military training so now is that I finally took a break to log on twittermoms.

As an RN i think the Rotavirus vaccine is very important specially in babies and toddlers since they are the most susceptible to dehydration and death caused by diarrhea. There were complications related to this vaccine back in 2006 but the vaccine has since then been licensed and is safe to use.

As a mother....if my child is healthy and does not suffer from conditions such as anemia, GI tract infections or malformations, hemophilia, autoimmune diseases, etc.. then I wouldn't vaccinate. I think it all depends on how well prepared are the parents to identify in a timely manner the symptoms of the rotavirus. At the end, all comes to how well educated the parents are not only in parenting but also in the health field. It is not necessary for parents to have a BA in health or any specialization in health sciences but it is necessary for them to understand how the body works and how delicate and fragile the life of a child is. I don't dare to say do this or that, I can only tell pple to look up more info. about this topic. Pple should never take such decisions based on what's in or what my friend did, but on the scientific reasoning of it all.

Side effects after vaccinating are a fact but also something that doesn't happen as often and we also have to understand that vaccinations have increased our life span and better our quality of life. Vaccines are not bad...it is usually the trial period which we have to be aware of as well as of our rights. The island where I live in was used as a laboratory long time ago. Women were given contraceptive pills that were not approved by the FDA then, these trial period caused women to deliver dead babies or babies with physical and/or mental problems. That is what us as parents have to educate about so things like these don't happen again.

Both as a parent and as an RN I'm pro-vaccination BUT at this point I won't let my daughter get the papillomavirus vaccine since in my opinion there's so much research that needs to be done before I can trust it. Also and IMO if parents decide not to vaccinate their child, they should consider a regular school since other vaccinated kids offer some level of protection to these children. This is a very delicate topic but parents should be able to decide what is best for their children w/o anybody's intervention as long as these parents have the education needed to understand what are vaccines and how they work. I just don't like when somebody says they don't believe in vaccinating their children but can't explain why. This happens a lot and is also an excuse used by negligent parents (like my brother and his g/f) to not go to the doc's office and "waste" time in there.

My son's pediatrician always recommends the homeopathic treatments first whenever we have an illness. They are very cautious with anti-biotics and only suggest them when nature isn't cooperating. So when this doctor recommends vaccines, I have no hesitation and feel completely comfortable. That's the key. You need to do what you feel comfortable with and what you feel is best for your child.

Mother's Instinct does not replace Mother's Education..... or Mother's Logic, either. Thank you for bringing up this topic for awareness! I have been interested in this, especially since I was in the army and got vaccines that have not even been studied yet, let alone having new research popping up in the science field involving our kids. This is a dilemma. To vaccinate or not vaccinate?....... Who is the author of this book?

Pharmceutical companies now make the vaccines without mercury or thimerosal. Finally!! It is a hard decision. You have to do what you feel is best. A mother's instinct is very strong.

Have any of you viewed the vaccine documentary entitled, "Shoot 'Em Up?" I just received it in the mail yesterday and I am SO glad I have this one! Our son, now 16 years old, suffered with ALL his baby vaccines. In fact, he started prior to birth, while still in utero. I am Rh-negative and was given the Rhogam vaccine during my pregnancy. Little did I know how much mercury was in those two shots. I was also given a Tetanus vaccine booster, simply because of a little cat scratch. That vaccine, too, had tons of mercury in it. Mercury/Thimerosal, is NOT the only reason some of our kids are reacting to vaccines. Ingredients such as Thimerosal can act synergistically with other ingredients, as well as with testosterone, to create autoimmune system disease/chronic illness.

Not only did our son suffer in utero (now confirmed by several doctors), he was given the Hep B vaccine at just under 12 hours of age. Now -- I tested negative for Hep B, yet our beautiful baby boy was still given that vaccine -- a vaccine, mind you, which wears off in 5 to 7 years (as proven in research findings). Then, at the age of 2 months, 4 months and then one more vaccine at 6 months, Ryan was pushed further and further over the edge, until he suffered a rather horrendous reaction at 4 months, due to a whole cell pertussis DPT vaccine. He started with complete somnalence (for over a 24 hour period), then awakened with a high-pitched scream I shall never forget. He literally banged his little forehead on my husband's chest. We now know this was due to neurological inflammation of the brain. When I called our pediatrician's office re: Ryan's reaction, he had me hold out the phone so he could hear Ryan's screams. When I got back on the phone, he was extremely quiet -- I could tell he was very concerned. He then told me that if Ryan didn't quit screaming within 15 minutes, to bring him into the office. Fortunately, Ryan did quit screaming, but the damage was already done. Once you put these vaccines into your baby's bloodstream, you can't take them out. During our 6 month checkup, they talked me into giving Ryan a DT vaccine, sans the pertussis component. They had determined this was the ingredient Ryan reacted to. Now I realize it is much more complicated than that. Further, Ryan's medical records do reflect his vaccine reactions. We were fortunate in that our pediatrician was honest with us and warned us we would see learning disabilities with our son, starting with Kindergarten. We have -- he has been diagnosed with profound dysgraphia, higher order speech language issues (which are now almost normal, thank goodness) and a true inability to understand principles behind math concepts. We quit vaccinating Ryan at 6 months and due to our homeopathic treatments for the occasional allergy or illness, Ryan is thriving and a completely normal boy in every respect. But I shudder to think just what would have happened to him had we continued to vaccinate him.

I challenge those of you who have replied on this site who are in the medical field to thoroughly research that which you have been taught while attending medical/nursing school. I asked a perfectly lovely, somewhat older pediatric nurse in our son's medical group if she would know a vaccine reaction if she saw one (she told me she was unaware any of their patients having ever suffered a vaccine reaction). Yet, when I pressed her to see if she had been TAUGHT how to look for a vaccine reaction when attending nursing school, she blanched and stated, "No, I was not taught that." So -- how on earth would she know what to look for? Logical question -- we all know the answer.

I, too, believed (albeit somewhat reticently) in our vaccination program, although I'd been warned about vaccines by a dear friend of mine. But when I witnessed with my own eyes what had happened to our beautiful baby boy, I KNEW in my heart that something was dreadfully wrong with him every single time he was vaccinated. There is a certain portion of our society...a certain number of our children who are 'special,' who are genetically predisposed to having vaccine reactions. But it goes further than that -- it's like peeling away the onion layer. The more you learn about the TRUTH behind how our immune systems really work, the more you learn the truth about disease and how our immune systems maturate, the more you learn the true stats regarding disease, and when they waned (before vaccines ever came into play), the more you realize there is more to this vaccine story than meets the eye.

I am a researcher -- that's what I do for a living. I go where the facts lead me. I am so sorry to state that the facts as they are about disease, how to stay healthy and what we are doing to these kids in over-vaccinating them, has not borne out to be what you hear in your pediatricians' office and it is not what you are taught in medical/nursing school.

Generation Rescue has a great website -- I have corresponded with JB Handley when he first started this wonderful organization and it has grown exponentially within these past few years. Autism can be reversed, but the earlier you start treatment, the better. Most of us think longer and harder about where to take our cars for a tuneup than we do in daring to question the medical authorities about our children's health and whether or not to vaccinate.

I used to be on the fence about vaccines. I used to say, "Do your own research -- research which vaccines, if any, you would choose to use for your family." But now that I know what I know, I would tell anyone to never put anything into your body which is a neurotoxin. ANYTHING. Also, you nurses out there -- read the vaccine label for ingredients and read where it states on each label that NONE of the ingredients contained within any given vaccine have been tested for their carcinogenic qualities.

Seriously -- would you feed your infant formaldehyde? Mercury? Live viruses? These are just a few ingredients put into vaccines. And how they react within our immune system -- how they impact us for a life-time, has NEVER been thoroughly researched. We all have simply assumed they were safe, because that's what we were TOLD.

When you consider that most members who sit on the boards who determine/mandate what vaccines go into your baby's schedule know absolutely NOTHING at all about the immune system, or how it is impacted with these toxins contained within the vaccines. You also need to consider that many of these members have conflicts of interest and hold patents/stock in big pharma -- you have got to ask yourselves some really hard questions.

Truth is truth and sometimes, it is a bitter pill to swallow. There are many pediatricians and yes, nurses, who, when confronted with the Truth about vaccines and the harm they have caused so many children, to want to deny, deny and deny. Can you imagine the absolute travesty it would be to know that you may have inexplicably damaged so many children? And these are pediatricians who went into this profession wanting to do good -- who genuinely care for these children. But they have been taught some things which do not bear out in the face of science. One in every 6 children is learning disabled; autism, learning disabilities, ADD, ADHD, excema, and chronic autoimmune disease are all on the rise in this country. Other first world countries do NOT overload their children's still developing immune systems with an abundance of vaccines. Hence, they do not see the numbers of autism and/or learning disabilities as our country does to this day.

I cried and cried when I realized the Truth in what I was researching. I have literally poured over FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) information; I have binders full of documentation which clearly show Eli Lily KNEW that mercury was a neurotoxin, and knew it was harming kids while using these vaccines, yet kept it from the American public; I have read various medical reports on what sudden infant collapse was described as following a DPT vaccine. Doctors knew about the side effects from the DPT, yet chose not to tell their parents. Ever hear about the Simpsonwood, Georgia meeting? It was a closed-door session amongst vaccine researchers, medical practitioners, etc., when they received the now famous results of research done on mercury and how it impacts the immune system. You can clearly hear one pediatrician, a grandfather, state that his grandson, having just been born that night, was NOT going to receive any vaccines containing mercury. I wonder if he was still injecting those vaccines into his little patients' legs, though...

Our country is the only country which mandates vaccines (but we do have exemptions in almost every state). Learn what the true benefits/ratio is for YOUR CHILD. Better yet, purchase the above-mentioned video,"Shoot 'Em Up," and decide for yourselves whether or not you think vaccines are truly what we've been told they are.

Then, make your own decision. Your child's life (and yours if you receive vaccines as an adult) may depend on it.

I have learned so much about this country's healthcare issues since studying up on our son's vaccine reactions. The very first book I ever found was Barbara Loe Fisher's book, "DPT - A Shot In The Dark." I also have Dr. Stephanie Cave's book -- a really great book. I just love her! Dr. Randall Neustaedter is a Homeopath who has written several books re: vaccines and vaccine safety/efficacy issues. He also just happens to be our family's Homeopath.

I would urge all of you to perform more research into your medical background. When you study the overall long-term side effects of vaccines...when you study disease itself and understand how we need to get sick to build up the maturation level of our immune system -- when you realize there are very few of us who now have truly healthy and robust immune systems, then you realize something is truly dreadfully wrong. What ARE we doing to our children and our planet?

Doctors are so afraid to just let kids get sick! Dr. Lawrence Palevsky, a wonderful, caring M.D., is featured on the above video. He is wonderfully articulate and wow...all I can say is...if you truly want to start understanding the healthcare field in this country and understand what true health is really all about (NOT due to synthetic immunity), then please purchase this video. How do I go about finding a doctor that isn't 'shot happy'? Our current doctor is now making fun and putting us down for our choice not to give the flu shots to our children

Interview them! We didn't interview our first pediatrician in Denver -- I had a friend who used him and she thought he was great! But -- she did everything he told her to do with her two kids -- she didn't question him at all -- but we learned! Find out what your prospective pediatrician's healthcare vision IS -- find out if he will truly work WITH you regarding your child's health-care plan. Find out if he will view you as true collaborators -- our first pediatrician was one of those who thought that we should just do everything he told us to do, because he was the authority figure. He would literally have one of his nurses stand over our son with that injection needle, ready to go. Little did they know that I was learning very quickly how to 'just say no,' we're not ready to decide on this, yet. It made him mad -- but so what. The thing is, it's YOUR child's body they are asking you to inject all of these poisons into. You have the right to informed consent in order to determine if putting those toxic ingredients into your child is what you really feel is best for your child. If something should happen to your child after vaccines are given, do you think your pediatrician is going to pay you to restore your child's health? Will it be your pediatrician who stays up nights with you in your home when you have a screaming child, a child who is unable to articulate the pain he is experiencing? I'm telling you -- please -- if you can, purchase the above video, "Shoot 'Em Up." It is THE best video presentation re: vaccine safety issues I have ever viewed. I have many documentary type videos on vaccines -- several which are very good, but this one is so good, I am considering purchasing several more of them and handing them out to our school board and other parents.

If you can, how about purchasing the above video and sharing it with your pediatrician's office? It's just planting the seeds -- one individual at a time -- but you can move mountains when the Truth is behind you.
