We used to be real all the way. Even though we would inevitably pull into the garage with the tree on top and pine cone needles flitting everywhere; even though it would die before it's time and leave me with subconscious thoughts of house fires, we went real. Then, one year, my husband went shopping after Christmas and found an unbelievable deal on a 'fake' tree, lights included. He called me excitedly and now...we have a fake tree.

We've always had a real tree. Last year, we went to Disney just before Christmas so we bought a fake one. I like the fact that it's prelit! We put up the fake one this year too....the day after Thanksgiving. With a real tree, it would be soooo dead by the time Christmas got here and I like the "no mess" factor! I put a scented ornament on it to give it some tree smell. =)

We have a fake tree. Real ones are beautiful but I'm afraid of the tree drying out and starting a fire or the lights starting a fire or the water at the bottom giving a short to the lights and starting a fire.
Real tree in the family room, in the living room and in the kitchen, but an old white artificial one in the dining room.My dining room is a winter-wonderland at Christmas time .With lots of lots of lots of candles so the real tree would be not a safe choice with my 4 very playful cats...
Growing up we always had a real tree, cut down from the woods with a band saw, and watched my parents fight like cats and dogs putting the damn thing up. Good times.
Greg and I had a real one the first year we were together. Then I vacuumed up pine needles until about May. Never, ever again. Fake forever in our house. Although I considered a real one this year - S's preschool puts everyone's real trees up out in the Nature Center after New Year's and they get to have a "forest" out there, it's pretty cool. But in the end, no real trees in this house.
