I was wondering how many of you have snoring husbands at home making it soooo hard for you to fall asleep.
Mine starts snoring the minute he closes his eyes and he is even wearing one of those breath-easy tapes on his nose. Of course he doesn't believe me when I tell him I couldn't sleep and I already think of taping it to make him listen. However,... it doesn't change a thing.

How are you handling this without moving to the sleepingcouch.
Looking forward hearing from you all.

My honey-man snores. Some nights are worse than others. Some nights he doesn't snore at all. We joke that I haven't really slept well in the 8 years we've been together. LOL

I deal with it by either giving him kisses and whispering in his ear asking him to roll over onto his side, turning on the light and reading, getting up to go do some work (I work from home), or going to sleep on the sofa.

I really should get a pair of ear plugs - last night it was raining and I laughed because he put ear plugs in soon after he went to bed. I asked him why he did and he made a joke about my snoring waking him up. We laughed and then he corrected it by saying "in case my own snoring wakes me up"

Oddly enough - he didn't snore last night LOL

One thing that works some is ear plugs, the first night it felt really strange the next night not as much then last night it was just weird so I hope it helps some. As far as the sound I can still hear him but its not near as loud.

Also he found that if you take a spoonful of honey before bed it helps so it may be doing some help there I dunno

Yes,.... we are having serious conversations about it at the moment.

My husband and I have been together for almost 20 years. During these 20 years his snoring seems to get harder and harder to sleep with at night. He did the sleep study but has not gone back for results and treatment. I'm going to push him this week to get with the doctor as sleep apnea can be serious as mentioned above (heard attack, stroke,), his mental clarity and grumpyness can also be associated with this. I work with 3 guys that uses CPAP machines and they swear it changed their lives and attitudes.

Try to get him in for a sleep study. He can do them at home if he is not comfortable sleeping in the treatment facility.

Best of luck!

Wearing earplugs would make me feel very uncomfortable with regards to the kids. I would be afraid i don't hear them when they call me. Besides,.... I am sure I would really concentrate on his snoring to find out if the earplugs really help haha.

This reminds me Desperate Housewives...last night's episode Bree was having the same problem with her husband and she "convinced" him to have surgery to take care of the problem...more like "coerced" him. LOL.

Oh my gosh, my husband is HORRIBLE! I chalk it up to him being a smoker and having asthma, but I hope and pray I fall asleep first, otherwise his snoring kills me! I don't just accept it, though, I nudge him, poke him, push him or wake him up and tell him to roll over!

My hubby has sleep apnea. Fortunately, my dad snored loudly so I was actually kinda used to dealing with snoring. The only time it poses a problem is if I'm trying to record a podcast or teleseminar. Then I have to leave the room so the snoring doesn't get picked up in the recording.

Oh man a topic near and dear to my ears lmbo.

It was so bad at one time I would take the risk and sleep in the bed or on the floor in my sons room lol. So hubby decided to get the breath rite snore strips for his nose, and the spray for his throat and it has been a big change for the both of us

Mine snores and snores! It is so annoying! I sometimes have to sleep downstairs because I cannot fall asleep- I try to fall asleep with the Television on because at least it blocks the noise- I am amazed at how fast he can fall asleep while I am still laying ther ein my bed waiting to fall asleep!
