Did you know the #1 cause of death for 15-20 year olds is automobile accidents? I've been doing research on this topic today and found that only 38% of teens buckle up whether they're behind the wheel or riding as a passenger.

Why is that? Studies show that seat belts save lives! Why are our kids not wearing the seat belts. By the time they are 15, it should be second nature.

I get so frustrated when I see people driving around town with kids in the car and they aren't secured.

Why does this happen?

I don't understand it. When I was young, we never wore seatbelts. As soon as I had my daughter I started wearing it. It's second nature to my kids to buckle up as soon as they get in the car. When my kids get to be driving age, if I found out they weren't wearing a seatbelt they would never be allowed to drive or get into the car with other teens.

Funny that you mentioned when you were young, Courtney. I remember we had to wear our seat belts only when we were going on long car trips. We know so much more than those days and seat belts are designed better. I just don't understand why people wouldn't choose to be safer.

I think it isn't a safety thing for them however its a control thing, They are starting to want to be in control of whats going on and this little thing (to them) is one way of having some control. or rebelling something.

Is it right No I say seatbelts are never unbuckled ifyour in the car.
