OK, moms, the deadline for the CBS story has passed, but the segment featured TwitterMom Sarah Walton, who heard about this press opportunity through a RAMBO Alert. Sarah is the founder of Better Way Moms -- a very funny, honest site with great content covering what it's like to be a mom. Sarah gave her perspective on CBS. I emailed Kelly, thanks for bringing this to our attention. I really had no idea this was happening. With children who have special needs, I am always concerned about their health, and am glad to be part of this group where I am able to learn from all of you!

I'll pass the word, thanks for sharing. I'm the bad one that still buys bottled. Okay I've tweeted and FB this. Hope it helps.

Just sent to my friend who is VERY passionate about this! So passionate that she created the Safe Sippy for babies and toddlers.

Hope she gets to be interviewed!

Thanks for sharing this! I've been in the anti-bottled camp for awhile now. Not only am I concerned about the toxins in the plastic, I also see it as a recycling nightmare and, in my hometown, they're now talking about adding a 5 cent per bottle charge as they do with soda. Crazy!

Keep up the good sharing and Peace!

I also e-mailed Kelly. Lots of research here about different bottle, sippy cups, pacifiers and more. We all have BPA free bottles and took our favorite Nalgene to Disney World with us.

I did know about the toxicity level when the water gets hot in the car/truck. We've started buying stainless steel thermos's and sending our little one to camp with her drink in that. Do you know if anyone recycles containers like these to make new ones? I will tweet your post as @K9Confections right away, and forward it to my Facebook friends, I didn't know about the phthalates in the plastic. Thanks for another informative tweet!

Thanks for forwarding! I also emailed Kelly. I avoid plastic as much as possible. Am horrified as i read more about it and as I read more about the chemicals being found in infants and mothers. I'm so glad CBS is doing a segment on this so other mothers can become more informed!

Emailed her as well!
We have a home water filter and use reusable bottles.
Saves money, time and I feel it's more safe.

Thank you for the link.

In my opinon, bottled water should be eliminated entirely. Besides the chemicals bottled water contains, it is dead water and not able to do its job in our bodies anyway. It is not the source nor cost of water that matters when choosing your drinking water , it's the energy and chemical balance of water before its consumed that matters in water's ability to hydrate, oxygenate, and detoxify.

The real focus should now be on how we rid our bodies of the chemicals and residues we have all been drinking for the last decade. Our family drinks water that is naturally energized and balanced with rock minerals. We have been for about a year, and it has transformed our health on many levels. Water in its proper form (the way nature intended) is able to keep our bodies free of toxins, keep our immune systems strong, and our mental and physical energy levels high. It really is the solution for all of us when it comes to water and our health.

Hi,
I still buy bottled water. Unfortunately, our tap water has too much arsenic, mercury and other things in it above safe levels, so its really not good to be drinking it. So I take my chances with Arrowhead that claims to be "mountain spring water" from places I am familiar with since I grew up in that area. As for the plastic bottles, they are recyclable, I keep them cool when I get them, and hopefully they haven't been subjected to too much heat en route.

Sometimes you have to weigh the risks and take a chance with one over the other. Is there any way to really get a "PURE" glass of water? I'd sure like to know.

Angie
