Hey all, my name's Peter and I run Flashlight Worthy.

Flashlight Worthy's a site full of nothing but recommendations of really great books -- but with all the books organized into themed lists. Go take a look, you'll get it right away.

Oh, and since y'all are moms, you might have a particular interest in our Kids Category. I still have about 40 lists offline I need to get up there, but there are already ~50 lists so it's off to a great start.

Anyway, I was tweeting with your tireless founder, Megan, and asked if this community might be interested in putting together a list or two -- you'd do it as a whole.

What could a list be about? Well... anything you want. In thinking about this particular group, some ideas that spring to mind are:

-- Books that Mom would really like to get this holiday season
-- The best bedtime storybooks ever
-- The favorite books of the TwitterMoms community
-- Guilty pleasures for when the kids are [at school/napping/out with D.H.]
-- Great books I gave my spouse in the past that he loved...

How this will work here -- I mean how this conversation will come to consensus, I don't know. Maybe there's someone who wants to appoint themselves in charge? Or not. But I figured it can't hurt to get the conversation started and let's see where it goes.

Let me know what you think.

What a great idea! I am personally fond of anything published by Barefoot Books....

My favorite Bedtime Book is Close your Eyes by Jean Marzollo and illustrated by Susan Jeffers (not a barefoot book!)

I suggest for Moms....Hannah's Dream I am reading it right now and loving it!

JJ-

Thanks for the suggestions. Before we dive into individual titles, it's probably a good idea to come up with a theme for the list.

I'm surprised how quiet it is in here -- is every off buying their holiday gifts?

I agree - we need a theme for the list.
I like Peter's suggestions of:
-- Books that Mom would really like to get this holiday season
-- The best bedtime storybooks ever

I'm too busy to read the books I'd really like get into, so I'm sticking with short stories, humor and compilations right now.
Maybe that would be another option: Books for Busy Moms With 30 Free Minutes - two for this list - The Literary Insomniac and anything by David Sedaris.

This is right up my alley! I keep my always-in-progress book lists on a wiki. http://mindysbooklists.pbwiki.com/ I have lots of picture book lists!
