Ways to Support Each Other

  • Rating: 5 after 5 votes
Hello everyone!

I’m very excited to announce we have 8000+ awesome moms who have joined together on Twittermoms. With all the rapid growth, I just wanted to explain a few ways we can support each other and keep the site a healthy, fun, useful resource for moms who love to tweet!

Twittermoms was started to support moms in their businesses and personal lives. We have several options for members to promote their businesses, websites, blogs, products, and more.

1. Post a blog entry about your area of expertise, including links to your blog or website
2. Announce your contests or offers in the “Contest” group
3. List your blog or business in the DESIGNATED promotional areas within specific groups
4. Post links to your poll or survey in the “Polling” Moms group
5. Post whatever you would like on your profile page
6. Start a discussion about your area of expertise and include links to your blog

The one thing that is NOT acceptable is to send group or individual emails to members asking them to fill out your survey, buy you product or service, enter your contest or do anything else. This is considered SPAM and it’s a deadly toxin. A few bad apples can take down a great community like this, so we have to be a stickler on this point. Rest assured, this site will remain a safe, engaging, fun and and spam-free environment for all moms. We have already banned members for spam violations.

Thank you for your support, and for making this such a great resource for so many moms! Have fun!

Hi Megan,

I think it's great that you are staying on top of this, sad that you have to. But i'm sure we all kind of expected it to happen especially with the rate it's been growing! Way to stay on top of things and keep it positive at the same time!

Thank you for sending out this reminder. People can also turn off email notifications if they find they are being spammed.

I suppose my concern here is that members start "tuning out" just because of a few bad apples. This should be a positive space. There is such great content here, and wonderful connections being made. I'm asking moderators of large groups to turn off the "send messages to all members of groups" since that seems to be the most troublesome spot. That should take care of 99% of the issue.

Hey Megan,

First thank you so much for starting this amazing forum and for stepping in quickly to head off the building spam issues. You're concern about members "tuning out" is well founded. With all the stuff coming through lately, I almost missed this message because I just started deleting them all.

If there is anything I can do to help out. Please let me know.

Hi Megan:
Just found you all tonight. I hope that some moms have older children like myself. Once a mom, always a mom, even when your kids are teens and above.
