Ways to Support Each Other

  • Rating: 5 after 5 votes
Hello everyone!

I’m very excited to announce we have 8000+ awesome moms who have joined together on Twittermoms. With all the rapid growth, I just wanted to explain a few ways we can support each other and keep the site a healthy, fun, useful resource for moms who love to tweet!

Twittermoms was started to support moms in their businesses and personal lives. We have several options for members to promote their businesses, websites, blogs, products, and more.

1. Post a blog entry about your area of expertise, including links to your blog or website
2. Announce your contests or offers in the “Contest” group
3. List your blog or business in the DESIGNATED promotional areas within specific groups
4. Post links to your poll or survey in the “Polling” Moms group
5. Post whatever you would like on your profile page
6. Start a discussion about your area of expertise and include links to your blog

The one thing that is NOT acceptable is to send group or individual emails to members asking them to fill out your survey, buy you product or service, enter your contest or do anything else. This is considered SPAM and it’s a deadly toxin. A few bad apples can take down a great community like this, so we have to be a stickler on this point. Rest assured, this site will remain a safe, engaging, fun and and spam-free environment for all moms. We have already banned members for spam violations.

Thank you for your support, and for making this such a great resource for so many moms! Have fun!

As one of those mommy bloggers who writes product reviews, this one caught my eye - a lot of moms who MAKE products don't realize us on the review end would rather promote Mom-Made if we could. So always keep us in mind! Just check out our sites for our rules (so you're not a nasty spammer :))

I think this is a great idea. May I make one suggestion though? Setting up a virtual mentorship program so new moms are not so intimidated by the veteran Twittermoms on the site?

Thanks, Megan! I have also received invites to OTHER ning sites and I am not sure how to stop those??

It's a good question. There is a post about opting out of e-mail invitations here. Hope this helps. Great to have you here!

So hard to believe that you wrote this just over two months ago and now TwitterMoms has grown to over 5,000 moms. That is amazing! Congrats.

I have a question about #2: Should it be a "unique to twitter moms" blog post or is it okay to share special posts that were originally on our personal blogs?

So glad you posted a reminder of acceptable ways to promote your business.

Twittermoms is a great resource, and I would hate to see it go by the wayside because people didn't understand how to use the site so it is beneficial to all.

Hi Megan, I have a question. Are we permitted to send our TM friends a message that we have a new blog post? Or is there another way to do that. I'm trying to stay in touch with all my new friends and wasn't sure how to do so except to go to each individual's page or to send a note to their inbox (all at the same time).

Warm regards,
Peggy
